Keg at The Answer Brewpub. Dark brown, medium tan head, fair retention. Aroma of fresh peppers, roasted malts, smoke, chocolate. The taste is chocolate, roasted malts, mild peppers and smoke. Medium bodied, low carbonation, mild booze. bytemesis (9502) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - DEC 10, 2015
Tap. Pours opaque black, small tan head, decent lacing. Aroma is anise, roasted malt, chili pepper, chocolate. Flavor is light plus sweet and bitter, roasty. Medium body. jackl (8555) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 8, 2015
Keg @ Republic. Thanks, Deyholla! Deep brown pour with a creamy tan head. Gorgeous beer. Nose is of lactose, chocolate, growing chili heat on the back end. Flavor is pretty rich. Strong ashy bitterness. Tasteful accents of pepper. Milk chocolate sweetness. Relatively dry finish. Substantial without being burdensome. Active carbonation. Well conceived. deyholla (12588) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - DEC 8, 2015
On tap at Republic. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges slowly. Aroma has a good amount of bitter dark grains with a bit of roast, smoke, chocolate and chili. Flavor has bitter dark grains and dark chocolate with a bit of peat and chili in the finish. obguthr (6829) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - DEC 6, 2015
Draft: Charred oak, baker’s chocolate nose. Dark mahogany, medium tan head. Baker’s chocolate, smoked chipotle, ash, creosote, thistle. Full body, easy carbonation. Not overly sweet, not overly hot, very chocolatey, lovely hop note.

Pours a deep brownish black on tap with thick tan head that leaves good lace. Aroma of chocolate, sweet and dark, just a faint spicy note. Taste is more toward the chilies, but good balance and not over the top. Booze is extremely well hidden, nice thick mouth, but not chewy. A nice surprise. b3shine (9260) - Indiana, USA - NOV 20, 2015
Draft to taster at the Mills River brewpub. This batch is 9.2% abv with 50 IBUs, and goes simply by Chocolate Chili Stout on the beer board and list. Looks good; a slightly translucent dark cola with beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt, chocolate, roast, and chili pepper spice. Tastes like it smells with a mildly bit tedium to medium full-bodied mouthfeel. A nice slow sipper, but one is more than enough. ctipping (2269) - Florida, USA - NOV 14, 2015
On tap at the House of Brews. Deep almost inky black. Medium khaki head that settles to a wispy surface and collar. Chocolate aroma. Roasted malt. Booze and some licorice. Tastes of rich chocolate. Roasted coffee malt. The faintest of peppers, but not much. Heavy and a little boozy. Good stout, but not very dynamic. slowrunner77 (13206) - Reno, Nevada, USA - NOV 10, 2015
just called Chocolate Chili stout, but the abv is about right. Tap in Chico. Chocolate is pretty subtle. Dry hopped w cocoa nibs, a little under the radar, but nice. the chili is a touch more evident without being overbearing. A nice firm bittersweet roasty stout, too. Draft at Tap & Bottle. Dark brown pour with a thin brown head. Very light aroma that is just hints of malt. Nice flavor with dark malt, molasses and just a faint hint of pepper in the lingering finish. Fairly tame and meh.
