Poured a dark orange with small slightly off-white head that clung to the pour's edges. Aroma is mild (something wrong here?) of medium sweet citrus rinds and a touch of pine resin.Flavour.... BOOM. an intense mix initially of sugars and alcohol, moving to woody and citrus bitterness, then into a long dry slightly acrid bitter finish. Full bodied, appropriately low carbonation, big oilyness on palate, with an almost forever palate. A fine bold imperial IPA, though a pity the aroma was so mild. Post-note: once it gently warms, released a bold lilac aroma and flavour. llkc (2880) - århus, DENMARK - OCT 7, 2017

Bottle (vintage 2016, 10,4%): Almost clear, golden to orangey coloured, smaller, but quite stable off-white head; solid sweet-bitter aroma of peppery, flowery and herbal-piney hops, balanced by honeyish malt and a little tinge of soy-sauce; solid bitter-sweet flavour, full bodied, what else; lingering and slightly drier, but still sweet and bitter, honeyish and piney and herbal finish with a warming alcohol-burn in the aftertaste. Great stuff, as always expected from Sierra... beer-yum (2005) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 10, 2017
Citrus pine aroma in an amber copper pour. Huge hop forward balance with a big fruity body and sustained dry bitter finish to match. Only issue is that it is too strong to enjoy in the quantities one would want. Maakun (6939) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - JUL 27, 2017
Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Almost clear dark amber with off white head. Toffee, light roasted nuts, dried red berries, mango, dried flowers, sweet wine gums, essential fruit oils. Quite fruity but in a dried and oily way with lots of thick sweet malts. Quite sweet and bitter. Almost full bodied. Not bad.

Bottle shared in Les Thons. Clear amber with white head. Big sweet malts, honey, rye, weedy hops. Big sweet and moderate bitter. Full body, oily and slick. Soft carbonation. cwill (112) - Parkesburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 15, 2017
Amber pour into a chalice. Thin one finger head that quickly disappeared. Aromas of mango, peach and pineapple. Taste is phenomenal. A hop bomb with tropical fruit sweetness and a bit grapefruit zest bitterness. Malty backbone becomes more apparent as it warms. Mouth feel is medium with a light carbonation. I found this to be a quite tasty beer. One of the better DIPA’s I’ve had.

This is the 2017 vintage at 9.6 percent. 12-ounce bottle pours hazy orange with spritz white head and lacing. Aroma: grapefruit, pineapple, mango, honey, pine. Flavor: all the above, just seriously ramped up; assertively sweet and bitter. Mouthfeel: full-bodied, slick. mjmoen (631) - - JUN 27, 2017
B-. Pours a clear golden color with white head. Surprisingly not too bitter. Full of flavor superspak (6367) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - JUN 10, 2017
12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/18/2017. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, light honey, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, light honey, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/citrus peel/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, papaya, lemon/orange peel, light pepper, pine, honey, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with and awesome malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is awesome. Zero warming alcohol for 9.6%. Overall this is an awesome DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with tame bitterness. Great juicy hop vibrancy and nice malt backbone, without being too sweet. A really enjoyable offering.
