A group of hop-heads and publicans challenged our Beer Camp (#19) brewers to push the extremes of whole-cone hop brewing. The result is this: a 100 IBU, whole-cone hurricane of flavor. Simply put- Hoptimum: the biggest whole-cone IPA we have ever produced. Aggressively hopped, dry-hopped and torpedoed with our exclusive new hop varieties for ultra-intense flavors and aromas.

Hops, hops and more hops are the stars of this big, whole-cone Imperial IPA. Resinous ‘new-school’ and exclusive hop varieties carry the bold and aromatic nose. The flavor follows the aroma with layers of aggressive hoppiness, featuring notes of grapefruit rind, rose, lilac, cedar and tropical fruit – all culminating in a dry and lasting finish.

bartlebier (4080) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - OCT 1, 2016
12oz freshish import, bottled 06/2016, shared by impuritylaw, merci. - Trademark citrus rind boiled down into resinous honey and sweet quince jam with a lingering resin and quince peel bitter finish. Noticeable alcohol. Richer in layered hop oil density than the Torpedo (as it reaches our shores), pushing citrus resins back into fruit jam territory (canned pineapple, passion fruit jelly)...hence also overall with too sweet a dose of crystal/caramalts and high barley-wineish density for me.

Pours clear amber golden. Off white - greenish foam. Nose id´s fruity - mango, citrus melon orange. Taste is full and complex. Lots of fruity hoppy aromas - citrus, orange, melon, mango and malty toffee notes. Finish is dry and warm with a perfect bitterness

JPDIPSO (6257) - Wauwatosa, USA - SEP 28, 2016
Pine, mint and citrus in the nose. Gets better with a little time in the glass as notes of pale malt and caramel come out. Warm malt and spicy hops. 11/10

Sunlander (26) - SWEDEN - SEP 23, 2016
Lots and lots of hops. Pours nicely with a off white head. Resin, malt, pine, grape and hops. With a strong bitterness that stays for a while. This one is almost to hoppy for me. But it’s a good Ipa with lots of taste and lots of hops.

beerplace (1801) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 11, 2016
12oz bottle from Elizabeth Station. Bottled on 27-Apr-2016. Pours a murky dark golden with a huge white head. Aroma is sweet tropical fruits, candied citruses some plums and resin. Same character sweet and bitter taste and aftertaste. Hoppy bomb! Slightly too sweet even for me, but still excellent!

Turpentine (27) - - SEP 2, 2016
I smakerna återfinns mycket karaktäristiska humletoner, tall, resin, grapefrukt m.m. I mitt tycke en mycket välbalanserad imperial IPA, trots den stora mängden humle (100 IBU). ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Nsanders (1155) - St Paul, Minnesota, USA - SEP 2, 2016
Tap at Pizza Luce. Light amber with a thin head. Sugary, tang, resiny and orange peel aromas. Opens very sweet with a bitter citrus finish. Medium body.

stantheman (1091) - British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 31, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2016 Small bottle from Elizabeth Station bottle shop in Bellingham Washington. A medium amber beer with plentiful yellow foam and bitter sweet malted hop nose. A sip confirms the nose with a big load of piney resinous, grapefruit hops and strong malts in the near background. Nicely balanced. 4

Probada on tap en Mugs Ale House, Brooklyn. Agosto 2016. IPA fuerte, de color amarronado y escasa espuma beige. Esta muy bien. 7/10 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Weevo (176) - Indiana, USA - AUG 27, 2016
UPDATED: OCT 9, 2016 Bottle, included with my beer club six pack. Since I’m not a hophead we know where this is going. At 100 IBU’s this is like the hottest sauce at your local wings place, let’s do it just to see if we can. This isn’t my thing, and I can’t recover from the lingering bitterness. But hopheads rejoice and enjoy. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
