UPDATED: DEC 28, 2013 12oz bottle - only 8 weeks old (not bad for Ireland!). Pours hazy reddish gold with thick white head. Huge piney hops on the nose - loads and loads of resin and spruce - big citrus notes too and a little bit of woody spice. The taste explodes with pine and citrus - massive oily hop flavours. Really good level of bitterness in this one, oily pine resin coats the mouth. Some blood orange and spice too. Some cakey sweetness from the malt, bit of digestive biscuit happening. Booze warmth is definitely noticeable as is a touch of a harsh alcohol note towards the finish.. Medium/full body. Hop character lingers for ages. This is one big, big DIPA. Great stuff. Flaska från SB. BB maj 2014, d v s tre månader gammal. Riktigt god. troupos40 (67) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 29, 2013
enjoyed straight from the bottle, WHOA, strong resin aroma from the beginning. pale color with good carbonation. taste is extremely bitter almost to the point of being unenjoyable, but just enough balance to keep me sipping. not for the faint of heart, for true hop-heads. this is a 10% beer with 100+ IBUs so if that is your thing Double/Triple IPAs this is a phenomenal offering from Sierra Nevada. as with many other High IBU/ABV IPAs, I would only want one per sitting, but still a nice offering. Highly Recommended for Hop Heads Firefly54 (246) - - JUL 29, 2013
Aroma is a hop assault. Pine, lemon, sherbet, hop oils. Taste is torpedo IPA on steroids. Easy drinking even though its 10.4! Awesome Emeister84 (2648) - Charlottesville, Virginia, USA - JUL 28, 2013
Piney and citrusy hop aromas with honey and caramel notes as well. Clear orange-gold with a mostly lasting, white head. Dry with fruity and bitter hops, cushioned by a heavy, malt backbone. Medium bodied and very smooth.

UPDATED: AUG 2, 2013 Bottle,color orange with a thin whitehead,smell is very hoppy,taste is bitter,very heavy beer. BeerKurve (520) - - JUL 26, 2013
Pours a hazy orange color with a 1 finger heads and sticky lacing. Strong Floral, Citrus, Dry and Piney hops all upfront followed by a caramel sweetness. Flavor is strong floral/piney/citrus hops and some grapefruit and caramel maltiness. The hoppiness is strong upfront but it becomes even stronger on the back of the palate. Body is heavy and the carbonation is moderate and lends to the flavor. Excellent Imperial IPA overall, cannot wait to have this again! mrhoppy (1196) - Santa Clara, California, USA - JUL 26, 2013
Beautiful orange color with a sharp hop nose. Nice lace from a dissipating cream head. A bit of sweetness and then bitter hop. Kind of medicinal. Good not great. Amateurish to me. When breweries brew a line of beers it seems you can taste the similarity between them. The base beer ingredients. This beer has that distinct Sierra Nevada quality. I love variety and it doesn’t make you want to try all their beers when you know basically what they will taste like. But I am a hophead and this one is highly rated. tozac (19) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUL 25, 2013
Dark orange, crystal clear. Huge nose, delicious. Hops are strong but not overpowering ljstephenson (250) - Enterprise, Alabama, USA - JUL 25, 2013
Bright deep orange pour with a thinning white head. Aroma is light fruit. Flavor is strong hop, pine, some orange & moderate malt. Finish is dry, quite malty and lingering. Wow, what an IPA!
