One of the best IPAs I’ve ever had, maybe the best. Don’t be discouraged by the 100 IBU rating, in case you would be. The hops used here are so tasty, it’s not like you just get a mouthful of bitterness from overdoing it. The chosen hops are perfectly fragrant and flavorful. Well done Sierra Nevada. Best enjoyed in their IPA glass of course! MarkSachon (1023) - Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 21, 2013
12 oz bottle purchased at the BeerHive in Pittsburgh. Nothing overdone, a nice balance of hops and everything else. Creecree (24) - - AUG 2, 2013
UPDATED: AUG 3, 2013 My local beer store just got this back in stock. This beer tastes great, even when it starts getting warm. It’s bitter and sweet at first, the harmony is perfect. It stays bitter on the palate, but not overwhelmingly bitter. It doesn’t have a perfect smell, but I get a lot of fruit (mostly banana, anyone else? Haha) and floral aromas. (Sweet, bitter, fruity, floral, mellow) crippledbrewer (45) - - NOV 16, 2013
After letting the bottle warm up slightly I cracked the top and I could immediately smell the hops. I started pouring and the smell got stronger and more complex until I couldn’t take it any more and buried my nose into the glass and took a big whiff. Oh my god, heavenly, intense floral, citrusy, resin and a background of cedar. The beer pours very nicely with a beautiful creamy head that lasts for ages and looks as comfortable as an ample bosom. With the contrast against the intense dark amber, the delicate lace left behind on the sides of the glass serves as a reminder of the wonderful ale that used to be there. The flavours are amazing, and the hop profile… out of this world! Its dry, sticky, spicy and fruity, almost like drinking a Christmas fruitcake, leaving that lovely hop resin coating your mouth. The body is creamy and smooth with the alcohol content being very well masked, except for a subtle ‘warming spirit glow’ at the very end which is quite pleasant. The after taste is quite remarkable. Apart from the already mentioned ‘warming spirit glow’ it also leaves spicy, dry and piney notes on the tongue which encourage you to have the next sip. vanguardo (1) - Georgia, USA - MAY 13, 2014 does not count
This is a near perfect double IPA. Dank, resiny mouth-feel that I always look for in this style beer. Strong, sweet hop flavor that isn’t overly fruity. One of the few beers that I feel stays strong from aroma through finish. The high alcohol is perfectly balanced by warm caramel notes and perfectly stinging hops. Just a greasy, resiny good time—just what I want in a DIPA.

Dominant IPA that is so crisp and fresh. Lots of hops and is accompanied with that great golden appearance. One of my favorite IPAs DuckEyes68 (1) - Ashland, USA - APR 25, 2017 does not count
First tried at Moped Motorhead’ s new apt on W str. (where the tenant straight across from him, a.k.a. and self-titled "mean black bitch" runs that section of the neighborhood and beats up short skinny white dudes and beats her phone against siding of building. The beer poured out clear, and was orange in color. The head was about one finger thick and long lasting. The beer was extremely aromatic, and each whiff revealed smells of pine and grapefruit, followed by tangerine and a hint of banana. The taste was piny, herbal, and very bitter, which made it just about perfect for the style. The malt backbone was sticky and sugary, but it was only their as a supporting actor. The hops remained evident from the beginning to the end of each sip, and lingered on in the spicy aftertaste. Mouthfeel was slightly thicker than medium, providing a nice coating action. A fabulous example of the style from this brewery doesn’t surprise me one bit. EKGoldings (664) - Radford, Virginia, USA - FEB 10, 2011
Pretty much a perfect beer for a hophead. Great clarity for something this big, nice juice hop overload but without the cloying sweetness of some other DIPAS I’ve had recently. Really a fantastic beer. PackPride (112) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - MAR 15, 2012
This is as close to as perfect of a beer as you can get. If you like IPA’s you are going to love this one! I’m a huge hop head, so when I saw this I had to have it since i’m also a large SN fan. By far the BEST IPA i’ve ever had, it doesn’t come close for me. Huge hop notes as soon as you open the bottle, followed by a nice floral citrus notes as well. On the palate it will take skin off your teeth with it’s massive hoppness. If you find this beer, buy it. If you find out where it’s at, run, don’t walk to go get it!
