Draft at the Boathouse in Conshie... Poured a light copper color with a nice creamy, off white, bubbly head, and nice lacing. A toned down, citrus hop and caramel malt aroma that was slightly spicy. Very perfumy, bitter, citrus hop taste, some sweet, maybe watermelon? flavor, with a sweet malt backbone. Very creamy, and velvety mouthfeel. Very enjoyable. desurfer (1302) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - FEB 1, 2006
Finally, they put this is bottles so I could try it! This is a nice IPA, with plenty of punch in the hop arena without being over the top, and some nice crisp malts backing it up. There’s a lot of alcohol in here but it’s hard to tell. Awesome beer. ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - MAR 20, 2006
Draught. Curious that it took this long for the founder of the North American hop movement to come out with an IPA. Sweet, fruity, hoppy excellent aroma. Hazy gold in color with some sparse carbonation. Some lace. Not much head, but nice color. Fruity and full bodied; as expected, more bitter than SNPA. Very good! An excellent IPA I would put it in the 80th percentile, but I see it as only made the 56th. There’s that ratebeer macro bias rearing its ugly head again. Resiny and piney. georgekappus (296) - Brookfield, Connecticut, USA - MAY 12, 2007
From the first sip this beer is full of a bitter hoppiness. It is one of the hoppier regular IPA’s. The alcohol content is well masked behind the bite of the beer. BigBen2120 (688) - Derry, New Hampshire, USA - MAY 25, 2007
12oz bottle from Florian’s. Amber-red body with a half inch of white head that leaves a fair bit of lacing as it goes. Smells fruity and hoppy. Tastes like citrussy hops and biscuit and caramel malts. Medium bodied, and very drinkable. A solid classic IPA.

Poured golden amber. Nice aroma of yeast, hops, and spices. Well balanced with a nice bitterness. Perfect on a warm day. Probably my favorite everyday beer. lgklotet (432) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 19, 2007
Bottle. 2007 vintage. Quite rich and robust, hop-dominated of course but supported by a solid malt-backbone. Nice to see American brewers using English hops in their IPA, I was quite taken by surprise by it. Fine and enjoyable. estoves2 (98) - SWEDEN - JUL 1, 2007
Ruby red body with a rather fizzy white head that disapears fast.
Aroma is af flowery hops and has small notes of malt.
Flavor mostly flowery hops and little caramel malt. Nice balanced with the strong tast of flowery hops and the weaker taste of caramel malt.
Has a creamy body that is rather thick and the head is creamy to. Mrthirstyneck (341) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 23, 2007
really great stuff better than the pale ale im thinking. nice and dry bitter parties out back for a good spell. but smooth enough to put em down all night. tasty routes nice work! jetboy (32) - USA - JAN 31, 2008
I really like this beer, it was my first......IPA. Howefver after the Double Dog, it has lost something. I do love the color and head on this one and it will always have a special place in my heart. Good amber color almost orangish. Like the hoppy bite, which lead my to try hoppier beers.
