Bottle ( 12oz ). Slightly hazy yellow-gold with a fairly large fluffy white lasting head. Nice light balanced aroma - grassy and fruity. The taste follows, ever so slightly tart; a hint of earthiness to the floral/grassy bitterness, fruit sweetness is peach, pear and very light banana. Light and soft body, decently carbonated, quick finishing and just a bit of sweet fruity linger. I liked it. stephenj007 (125) - Houston, Texas, USA - NOV 22, 2009
Have had trouble finding this beer, but I am now very pleased I did.
Bottle pour is cloudy yellow, with a foamy head that stayed thru most of the consumption. Mild carbonation is very well set for a brew such as this one. Aromas of lemon, citrus, slight sweet clove. Taste was very impressive, smooth, a little heavy in feel, notes of not-quite-ripe bananna, lemon, mild hops, and very good malts. I don’t know if I would call the flavors complex, but they all compliment each other very nicely. I do believe the open fermentation process attributes are noticeable in this brew. A very impressive, well balanced hefeweizen from a reliable brewery. ROGUE (2216) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - NOV 20, 2009
12oz bottle. Pours a hazy deep golden color with a thick soapy off white head, that settles into a ring. Aroma is full of spice, yeast, banana and light citrus. Nice spice flavor up front with hints of banana and just a bit of malt. Very mild citrus bitterness at the finish. Mouthfeel is light and crisp with soft fizzy carbonation. A very nicely done beer.

Cloudly yellow gold color. Crisp firm hefty attack. Light finish. Not sure I get heffys yet. MoritzF (10199) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - NOV 20, 2009
(bottle, 35.5cl) Cloudy, bright orange colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Mildly sweet and slightly dusty wheat-malty aroma with delicate fruity notes of banana and spicy cloves. Moderately sweet flavour with a tinge of bitterness, light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Present wheat-character, yeasty and mildly fruity taste with cloves and notes of herbal, slightly woody hops; soft malty and slightly wheaty finish with phenolic spices. Decent, slightly dusty Hefe. 20.XI.09

Banana fruit aroma. Small white head. Low carbonation. Golden coloured and very hazy in appearance with a little bitterness in a slightly creamy malt finish. guerinfbfan (110) - Elmwood Park, Illinois, USA - NOV 18, 2009
Pours a golden yellow with a small white head. Your get a nose of citrus, mostly lemons, but also some small amounts of banana. The taste is a very nice combo of citrus and bananas.Very drinkable beer, and a nice offering from Sierra Nevada. SuIIy (1984) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - NOV 17, 2009
Bottle. Pours a dark hazy golden color with white foamy head. Nose is bananas, light clove, a light sweetness, hints of lemon. palate is full and smooth with a dry yeast note. Flavors are light banana, some grass, yeast, a nice light spiciness. sound67 (784) - Offenbach, GERMANY - NOV 16, 2009
33cl bottle, as shown.
Pours a characteristically cloudy pale orange with an initially big, creamy white head. Retention is moderate, lacing generous.
Aroma is of banana, orange and yeast.
Medium carbonation and body, deliciously thick yet earthy mouth feel.
Weizen flavour is very similar to the German SCHÖFFERHOFER hef, meaning it’s considerably less sweetish than the Bavarian variety - perhaps, the Sierra Nevada is leaner still: Spicy, not very sweet, with a limited range of fruit (banana and citrus, the latter dominating), with a decidedly sour, moderately bitter finish and citrusy after taste.
Top-of-the-shelf hefeweizen, as good a beer as I’ve come to expect from Sierra Nevada. If you’re into the "real" hefe taste without the sugary elements, then THIS is your beer. GreatStelle (363) - Chico, California, USA - NOV 15, 2009
Not as wheaty as some Hefs. Light head. Not to murky good golden yellow color. Light citrus, bannana and clove flavors. In general not a fan of american hefs. This is pretty good though. Much diffrent than sierra nevada’s other beers
