COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kellerweis is one of the only American Hefeweizens made using the traditional Bavarian style of open fermentation. This difficult and labor-intensive technique adds uncommon depth and flavor complexity. Our hazy-golden hefeweizen is deeply flavorful, refreshing and perfect for a sunny day. To serve, pour two-thirds into a glass, swirl and pour the rest.

Thanks to bhensonb. Pours a hazy, dark yellow with a coarse, quickly dissipating head. Pulled this one as the last of my Dancing Man is all gone and I probably wont be able to get any more until next summer. Im afraid that SN isnt going to be a good substitution. The nose is banana/yeast, and the initial taste is the same. Spice notes follow quickly but are not strong. The beer has the unusual character of being both slightly sweet then slightly astringent/dry immediately on the heels of the sweet - bot both dont appear at the same time. The character in beers when these two are able to exist together create a nice complexity. The two dont exist together here and the result is not all that great. In the end this beer is a little thin, the palate is a little coarse. There is some substance, but this is no Dancing Man.

Big nose on this, burst out of the glass. Heavy cloves, some banana and general fruitiness. Appearance is a bit cloudy, big head, couldnt fill the glass cause of expansion. Palate is big-time bananas, wow. Full body, a bit of small bubbled carbonation. True to style and good.

A: Poured with a fairly large, white head that yielded some light lacing. Body is yellow and cloudy, just like a good hefe should be. S: Very nice smell of light yeast, wheat, and hints of lemon and banana as well. Quite inviting. T: Excellent taste, with wheat and citrus coming through. The banana is prevalent, but not sickening or overpowering at all (and Im not a fan of bananas)... works very well with this beer. M: Medium-bodied and creamy, with lively carbonation. D: Definitely the best hefeweizen Ive tried yet... its extremely easy to drink, well-balanced, and an excellent example of its style. Looking forward to having another sometime, as soon as I can.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Yellow colour. Light malty and hoppy aroma. Moderate yeasty esters, especially mango and banana. MOderate bitter flavor. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate but way too fizzy. OK Hefe but no way near 3.6 score!!!!!

A cloudy golden beer with a nice head & a lot of carbonation. The aroma had banana as did the taste with some bready qualities that was a little watery in the finish. A refresher.

Bottled. Poured pretty cloudy. Spicy bananas etc. Pretty well done for an american made hefe.

Pours a cloudy orange color with a thick off-white head. Spicy aroma with hints of banana, clove, and some wheat. Strong taste of banana. With a bitter aftertaste and some hints of hops and some yeast. It is a pretty good Hefeweizen overall.

Bottle. Poured a cloudy pale orange-yellow color with an inch thick, fluffy off-white head that slowly receded and left some spotty lacing. Moderately spicy aroma with hints of clove, nutmeg, and wheat paired with some ripe banana, faint orange peel, light bubble gum, and some soft doughy yeast. Smooth, moderately crispy entry with some light wheat and a bit of orange leads into a moderately spicy middle with hints of clove and banana that lead into a lightly bitter finish with some soft hints of grassy hops and a faint yeastiness. Moderate carbonation and decent mouth feel. Overall, its a decent hefe that you can buy in 6 packs. It shows some promise on the nose, but the flavor doesnt quite hold up its end of the bargain. Either way, its drinkable and enjoyable.

Admittedly, Im not a huge fan of wheat beers, but this one was a pleasant surprise. And who better for it to come from than Sierra Nevada? It had a really deep flavor with the characteristic wheat aftertaste. It was very enjoyable.

Flaske: Flot orange uklar l med et kmpe skumhoved. Dejlig klassisk duft af banan og hvede. Smagen er ogs banan med et overraskende velhumlet bid. Virkelig en dejlig hefe. Super.
