On Tap Clear dark redish brown. remarkably "non-black" actually. Classic "lid" of nitro bubbles on top. The malt bill is decidedly les roasty than clacssics o the style. A dark brown ale more like, dry...yes. Nitro....yes. But a stout ? barely.

Draught at Sierra Nevada Torpedo Room, Berkeley. Black beer with a beautiful lasting beige head. Nitro beers can be so beautiful. Roasted caramel and chocolate flavor, licorice, smoked notes, some cacao nibs. Chocolate flavor, cacao nibs, licorice notes. Quite nice.

A very creamy head to this. Smooth drinking, and not really all that dry, this is a nice stout.

This one was a little jolty. Pour of course is fantastic, super creamy, head is alive and frothy, look of the beer is like coffee that has cream in it. Smell is controlled by the head but I do get a nutty scent. Taste is nice and balanced, creamy nuttiness, super drying and cleansing

draft to sampler, I am not a huge nitro fan but in this instance it was ok. dry stout similar to guiness in style but made the SN way with nitro. mild roastiness dry finish the middle was creamy enough to make it enjoyable.

Keg at the Torpedo Room, Berkeley, 29/01/16. Pitch black pour with a big old tan head with excellent retention qualities - a real looker of a beer. Nose is thinnish, light paper, roasted notes, toffee, cocoa powder, raisens. Taste comprises mellow dark fruits, light tar, chocolate sprinkle, light roast bitterness. Medium bodied, soft, smooth, caressing on the throat, drying close with a little roast. Looks and feels great but lacks direction at the business end.

Draft at the Torpedo Room. Pours an opaque coffee brown with a cascading khaki head. Notes of toasted and mild roasted and chocolate malts, tobacco, earth, and some soy/umami kind of thing. Light-bodied, with high soft carbonation and a dry, smooth, mildly roasty mouthfeel. Good nitro stout.

Keg at the Torpedo Room. Pours deep brown with a thick, creamy tan head. Mellow nose, hints of smokey roast, faint cocoa. Light sweet flavor with faint toasted malts, cocoa, earth; rather bland. Light bodied with soft carbonation; as usual, the nitro serve has messed up the mouthfeel. Somewhat bland on the finish, just some burnt toast, slight earthy bitterness and weak cocoa. So so.
