Rather mild on flavors and a fair bit harsh on the alcohol. Some roasted notes with a bit of chocolate and molasses. All in all a good brew but unimpressive. Maybe a year or two in storage will be beneficial. badhack (554) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 15, 2014
Outstanding beer from Sierra. Poors black, medium mouthfeel. Very cocao forward and a bittering finish. Coffee, lots of dark roasted malt and some across the spectrum but to a lesser extent. George999 (455) - Colorado, USA - NOV 14, 2014
Pours dark smooth with a Carmel brown head, aroma is alcohol hints of chocolate maybe toffee, taste is rich, creamy, a little smokey, finish is a little bitter but overall a great stout onceblind (9445) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 14, 2014
Rich black pour with a wee foamy khaki hued head. Nice rich nose of sweet dark chocolate and a touch of roasted malt and a bit of coffee. Big powerful flavor of semisweet rich dark chocolate, roasted black malt, coffee, burnt caramel, rich dark malty black sweet tones and a semibitter coffee finish. Nice. mathieuc (3958) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 14, 2014
Pours a pitch black with a thin brown head that leaves good lacing. Nose is of coffee, raisins and licorice. Roasted malt galore. Taste is of chocolate, coffee and some peppery alcohol and licorice. Body is full and carbonation moderate. Mouthfeel is airy and smooth. Overall a nice imperial stout and further more a really available one!

Full bodied black Imperial Stout. Coffee and cocoa flavors blend well with moderate bitterness and not-so sweet malts. Well crafted high octane stout from Sierra Nevada. HIGHB4LL (837) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - NOV 12, 2014
12 oz. bottle from Cash Wise in Minot. Appearance: finger of dark brown head, dark brown to black color, opaque, decent oily lacing. Aroma: roast, coffee, light licorice,, extreme dark chocolate. Palate: full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, boozy bite, bitter finish, dry finish. Taste: full rich sweet malt that lasts briefly, then right into coffee/extreme-black-chocolate bitterness that is a bit more powerful than the sweetness, but rides along with it well. Light booze. Overall, lovely beer, but one that really needs moderation; I do not want more than a bottle at a time of this and even that is a lot. In small amounts, a great beer. peponi (1842) - Hannover, GERMANY - NOV 11, 2014
Aroma: roasted dark malts, dried fruits, bitter chocolate, vanilla.
Appearance: nice black color, beige head.
Taste: medium bitterness, roasted dark malts, dried fruits, coffee substitute, bitter chocolate, vanilla.
Palate: full body and medium carbonation, roasted finish.
Overall: Really good imperial stout, recommended. RyanK (275) - Rhode Island, USA - NOV 10, 2014
12oz bottle pours dark black, looks thick and has a dark brown head quick to dissolve. Smells richly of chocolate, sugary and alcohol heavy for sure. Has an alcohol heavy feel as well with a little burn and certainly some warm in your chest. Has elements of chocolate and cofee for sure, the molasses gives a sugary element to battle the alcohol. Overall a heavy stout not bad tasting and probably well aged. JoeMcPhee (9426) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 9, 2014
Deep black pour with a thick creamy head. The nose is roasty and a little bit fruity. Plum and a little bit of cherry along with some black licorice. Roasty and delicious. Rich and balanced. Pretty solid impy stout.
