Pitch ink-black. Beige head with big chunky bubbles, starts out thick but settles into creamy thinness. Smells like ash/tobacco, booze, an almost dusty attic, pepper, hint of potpourri. Tastes of burnt/roasted dark malt, dark chocolate, cheese/yeast, quite bitter, ends on a sour note. Body is smooth but thin, a bit of spice. Very big and interesting even if it might not be to my usual taste - lots of burnt ash and cheesy yeast, which is an unusual combination and slightly odd. HKdIPA (850) - HONG KONG - DEC 5, 2014
Bottle from Citysuper at home. Thick black pour with brown edges and a dense tan head. Aroma is lots of malt, booze, leather, even a bit blue cheese-ish. Taste is very big, rich boozy and toasted malts. Slight bit of licorice but not bad. Very smooth. Finish is warming booze. Very solid but not outstanding stout. gad905 (203) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 4, 2014
Bottle, 29/4/14. Pours black, creamy tan head. Nose of chocolate, coffee, molasses, roast. Tastes decent sweet molasses, milk chocolate, dark cocoa, roast, coffee, some hop bitterness. Great balance: "more than solid, but not quite special" is what I wrote at the time. WillRunForBeer (2766) - Massachusetts, USA - DEC 4, 2014
Draft at Parker Pie. Pours nearly black with a beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt. Flavor follows, a molasses, dark chocolate. roast up front. A bit of alcohol heat in the finish. AdamT (268) - North Carolina, USA - DEC 4, 2014
Vintage 2014, 12oz bottle from Brewmaster’s in Wilson. Black pour, zero visibility with frothy medium brown head. Excellent lacing. Chocolate malt, booze and some dark fruit (figs) aromas. Thick chocolate malt flavor up front with a mostly chocolate malt finish, but there were hints of dark fruit on the finish as well . As it warms the booze taste really starts to come out. I thought this was a solid beer, but I was looking for a bit more in the taste, I also tried to find the coffee (taste or aroma) but was unsuccessful . Creamy mouthfeel.

Yummy......solid showing very sweet beer....great beer...Yummy.:-X.................... Mep3222 (1641) - East Greenbush, New York, USA - NOV 30, 2014
Aroma of sweet roasted malt, some coffee, and some vanilla like bourbon. Bet the bourbon aged narwhal would be great as this already has some bourbon characteristics. Very smooth, balanced and full flavored. Nice imperial stout. Has a smoothness to it that has a slight milk stout feel.

Midnight black body blanketed by a thick dark tan foamy pillow. Long lasting head retention and decent lacing. Syrupy consistency layered with complexity. Freshly roasted coffee and malts fill the nostrils on the first waft as faint scents of vanilla and molasses creep in. Leaves an amazing tingling feeling despite the leaden viscosity. Rich nutty flavors with undertones of decadent chocolate. Tastes of raisins, cherries, and even a bit of raspberry welcome an earthy aftertaste. Subtle hints of oak. Very polished stout. mixer006 (44) - Dublin, IRELAND - NOV 27, 2014
