Bottle at home split with Sarah from BEER:Shop St Albans. REally dark opaque black coloured pour with a lasting dark tan head. Aroma is biscotti, dark fruits, raisin, slight belgian yeast. Nice layered malts, with smoked malts and melanoidin sugars. Flavour is rounded soft roasts, brown suagrs, really rounded and full malts. Clean and smooth roast. Nice clean ferment with lingering tart berry fruit, and dark choc. Really smooth palte, velvety on the tongue. Very Very Good. Nicksbeers (26) - - NOV 21, 2014
Didn’t have any head at all. Smells like chocolate and coffee. Medium body for sure. Little bit of bitterness at the end. BUT WOW, this has chocolate and coffee and lots of it. wow. Little bit of caramel sweetness at the end. This goes down real easy. I don’t pick up any alcohol. As it warms you can smell a little bit of the alcohol but nothing bad. bpar73 (1177) - Bellaire, Michigan, USA - NOV 21, 2014
Bottle. Black pour with a minimal tan head. Bitter dark chocolate, malt, and coffee with an alcohol presence. Tasty and complex and probably will age gracefully. A bit of an edge to it when fresh. Homer321 (5170) - Melboring, Florida, USA - NOV 20, 2014
Bottle to snifter. Nose is dark and bitter chocolate. Pour is black with a small light brown head. Taste is dark dark chocolate to the point of almost being a harsh bitterness. Smooths out with each sip. A tad grassy so I’m guessing this is relatively highly hopped. Flavors start to come together as it warms but still seems a little out of balance. Ok but I’d like to see it with some age on it. voyageurmike (502) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 18, 2014
Draft in a sampler glass. Definition of a big imperial stout, although it is a quite flavorful beer for something with its ABV. Inky black with medium body, lots of bitter chocolate and coffee nuance to the taste. Really pleasant brief, clean finish.

Had at Bottlecraft In San Diego. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Not much in aroma. Flavor is very malty caramel and sweet. Close to a barley wine. Not much roast. Great beer.

Rather mild on flavors and a fair bit harsh on the alcohol. Some roasted notes with a bit of chocolate and molasses. All in all a good brew but unimpressive. Maybe a year or two in storage will be beneficial. badhack (565) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 15, 2014
Outstanding beer from Sierra. Poors black, medium mouthfeel. Very cocao forward and a bittering finish. Coffee, lots of dark roasted malt and some across the spectrum but to a lesser extent. George999 (463) - Colorado, USA - NOV 14, 2014
Pours dark smooth with a Carmel brown head, aroma is alcohol hints of chocolate maybe toffee, taste is rich, creamy, a little smokey, finish is a little bitter but overall a great stout onceblind (10330) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 14, 2014
Rich black pour with a wee foamy khaki hued head. Nice rich nose of sweet dark chocolate and a touch of roasted malt and a bit of coffee. Big powerful flavor of semisweet rich dark chocolate, roasted black malt, coffee, burnt caramel, rich dark malty black sweet tones and a semibitter coffee finish. Nice.
