This is an excellent imperial stout that displays both complexity and drinkability. Thick and creamy with a nice malt bill. Really enjoyable experience

På flaska från systemet. Bärnstensfärgad vätska. Doftar aprikos. Smakar sött av aprikos som rundas av med en härlig beska. lopisar (249) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 23, 2014

Solid, as always from SN, but not my favorite. Bit rough around the edges this one- and unnecessarily boozy. Pours brown/ black- opaque with small, weak tan head. Some lacing. All the right notes- chocolate and sweet fruit (raisin, fig) upfront with a jolt of coffee at the end. Right weight for a stout. Pretty smooth. Just a bit harsh. Slightly phenolic in not-the-good-way. Needs to mellow. Overly sweet on the front and bitter on the back. Time will work it’s magic on this one. 2013.

On draft at Chuck’s 85th St. Thin, meager head, with some lace as you drink. Very dark, inky, opaque. Aroma is coffee, smoked malt, raisins, fig, molasses, some herbal notes from the hops. Sips bitter, a bit green, then sweet malt into the finish. Some hot alcohol flash, drinks thick, finishes medium. Overall very good, but could be exceptional with some more aging on it.

Very dark thin tan head. Dark chocolate, coffee and smokey malts. Kinda bitter and boozy. Very good, but should be great after some age. CJ_Pain (221) - Georgia, USA - OCT 10, 2014

The pour is pitch black with little head. Tinny bubbles lacing the glass. Cocoa, tobacco and nutmeg aromas. Smooth mouthfeel and the taste is excellent. More cocoa and chocolate with deep roasted malt flavor. Really great stuff. DrunkSanta410 (940) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - OCT 8, 2014
2014 bottle to glass. Pours a dark inky black with quick dissipating tan head. Aroma is nice chocolate, coffee and hints of fruit and toffee. Taste is dark chocolate, espresso, hints of fruit and toffee. Not overly sweet or bitter. Little alcohol burn. Palate is smooth, lightly carbonated. Overall a great imperial stout. This would age nicely.
