Bottle. Aroma sweet, milk chocolate, raisins, dark fruits, some warming alcohol. Inviting. Pitch black colour. Taste is mostly sweet, chocolate, intensely roasted, some alcohol. Decent hoppy bitter base, which reveals itself in the finish.

deep roasty complex coffee/nutty blend with some chocolate notes attached. This is a serious imperial stout that doesnt disappoint.

A beautiful black with a brown creamy head. Coffee and molasses nose. Very sweet and it hides the ABV well. Coffee and malt flavours dominate here. Palate is a little light for the style but not too bad, good carbonation.

Bottle, 10.2%. Creamed coffee aroma, hint of smoke. Black colour. Small dark brown head. The flavour starts off sweet with a fruity and sweet hop note. Turns salty and roasted with a late cream note. Late alcohol bitterness along with the bitterness of roast barley. Powerful, but fairly well-balanced. Gets rather boozy when nearing the end of the bottle.

Narwhal 2012. Aromas of roasted nuts, molasses, chocolate, caramel, as it warms alcohol. Huge aroma profile. Head has dissipated by the time I looked at it. leaves a medium lacing. mmMmmm. coffee aromas at first taste. This is how a stout should taste. So much malt. low sweetness, low to medium bitters. Full bodied, thick/oily texture. A long finish.

Draft. Pours black. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee. Taste is similar to aroma with a long lasting bitter aftertaste.

2013 bottle. Opaque very dark brown, tan head. Nose is lots of dark fruit, prune, plum, raisin, chocolate, milky coffee, roasted malt, bit plasticky, cocoa dusky. Taste is dark dried fruits, prune, raisin, sultana, plums, but the cocoa chocolate is quite dominating. Malty with dark fruit. Decent but not my favourite imperial stout style. Bit to much cocoa and lactic plasticky.
