Pours a super dark black/brown with a light brown head. The smell is molasses, Dark roasted malt, dark fruit, chocolate. The taste is dark fruit, dark roasted malt, chocolate ending dry with some alcohol burn. The body is medium with fine carbonation. Very nice.

A rather bitter wee number, plenty of alcohol in the aroma but it’s not so noticeable in the flavour. Lots of roasted flavours giving some dirty coffee notes. A little syrupy but relatively little body for such a strong beer. A satisfying strong, bitter stout (you will love it if you are looking for those three things).

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2014 355ml [email protected] (from Bierzwerg) - Dark beer with dark black brown color with minimal brownish head. Aroma has dark chocolate, raisins wih coffee and roasty malt. The taste sweetish with some medium bitterness and light sourness. Palate is almost full with sweetishky sticky texture and almost flat carbonation. Finish is dryishly bitter. This US Imperial Stout has been geared more towards malty sweetness instead of a more typical hop loaded Stouts of the new continent. Personally I like the more hop oriented ones but this is definitely still worth checking out.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours black with a half finger of dark brown head. Aroma of cocoa and chocolate with caramel and raisin. Taste is light bitter and light sweet. Follows aroma with some dark fruits and raisin. Great stout, I wish it was year round.

0.355 l bottle, thanks Petteri! Pitch black color. Soft roasty aroma with coffee, raisins. Soft roasty flavor with coffee, charcoal, raisins, nuts and restrained pine. Very harmonous, drinkable and complex beer. Surprisingly soft and delicate yet rich and extremely tasty.

12 fl oz bottle sample. Pours a thick, opaque black with a small to mid size mocha head. Aromas are strong black liquorice, wood, nuts, and burnt sugar. Tastes are roasty, some coffee, and a little alcohol. Big body, warming, oily, moderate carbonation, and a medium alcohol finish. Not a huge fan of imperial stouts but this one was pleasant. Did a decent job covering the massive 10.2% abc.

Pitch black with beautiful tan head, leaving considerable lacing on the glass. This looks like an Imperial Stout all right. Very strong aromas of coffee, alcohol, chocolate etc. Very big on the alcohol. Roasted/toasted barley, cocoa and coffee beans hit the tongue. Very creamy, fairly big body, medium carbonation. As far as imperial stouts go, this stands among the finest.

Taste is moderate sweet, heavy bitter and light acidic.Body is medium, texture is thick and creamy, carbonation is soft. Finishes chalky, alcoholic and quite warming.
