(Bottle, 0.355 l - 2013 vintage, from Systembolaget, 20140222) The beer poured black. Its head was quite large, light brown and it lasted long time. Aroma had hops, roasted malts and liquorice. Palate was medium bodied and dryish with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, liquorice, sweetness, hops, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste had liquorice and bitterness. Not an unsual imperial stout but the long aftertaste was nice: it avoided too intense burntness.

355 ml bottle.
Pours pitch black color with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel, some roasted malts, sweetish chocolate and faint sugary notes. Flavor of licorice, roasted malts, chocolate, some caramel and mild ashy notes. A bit sweet sticky palate, lingering roasty finish. Some alcohol burn at the end, but nothing disturbing. Quite heavy stuff.

33 cl bottle vintage 2012 @ olio, BBE 2285206:44
Aroma has cocoa, salty licorice and some herbal tones. Also hints of semi-dark chocolate. Flavour has salty licorice, some ashy tones, herbs and some semi-dark chocolate. Also distant coffee notes. Rich and smooth palate. Perhaps a bit too salty but rather nice still.

Ap: Black, small beige creamy head. Ar: rather sweet, some vanilla, hints of dark chocolate and coffee. Hints of black currant. Some alcohol as it gets warmer. Nice! T: medium to high bitterness, roastyness, some acidity from roasted malt. P: full bodied not especially round mouthfell but rather sharp fizzy like feeling in the tounge.

2013 vintage. pours very dark brown with a small yet persistent creamy beige head showing some nice lacing patterns. burnt malts - overdone, strong coffee, smokiness, lots of blackberries along with roasted-like acidity, very ashy and almost powdery ashes, resin, molasses with their minerals, earthy. moderate to low carbonation, medium body - oily but not cloying, harsh resinous-bitter-coffee-mineral finish. boozy. not what i’m seeking for in a ris. DP.

12 oz. bottle in a snifter. Pours a dark brown color with a slight ruby tint. There is basically no head. Aroma is roast, sweetness, and a very light hint of citrusy hops. It’s a nice scent, but not very strong or complex. Taste is very similar to the aroma, but there is also a tad bit of coffee at the back end. The mouth is a tad bit crisper than I expected. Overall, it’s pretty good, but it’s not FIS good.

Flaska delad med @thaalcoholic. Svart/rödbrun vätska Med beige-brunt skum. Doftar som rökt korv. Smakar bittert kaffe och choklad. En riktigt god stout

Bottle - black with a slim brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roast malts, coffee, molasses. Intense and complex indeed on the flavour front, roasted, malty, chocolate, salty, meaty, some late bitterness. Full bodied, excellent.
