Snifter pour of dark thin liquid, full finger khaki head. Nose holds lots of bitterness, malts and coffee, fairly roasted. Flavors follow, with plenty of bitter coffee and roasted malts. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. Quite drinkable, and enjoyable.

Black as night in colour with a brownish foam as typhical as thy can be. Nose is blend of toffee, plums, roasted malt. Taste is a nice mixture of some sweet plummy tones appearing first and then a rather complex mixture of chocolate, coffee, roastiness and even ashes (!) with a slightly warming end of well hidden alcohol and a bitterness. Top notch Imperial Stout the way I like it best - plain and simple and no fancy barrel aged stuff!

1 finger thick, off white/light tan head. As dense as a frothy latte, it really stays there for a while too. Great lacing. Pitch black beer. Aroma is fresh coffee beans, vanilla, dark bitter chocolate and tobacco. Hints of cardemum and dried fruits Taste successfully follows the aroma almost spot on but adds liqourice and brings along a bitterness that almosts bites your tongue off. Warming alcohol at the back. Unfortunately a bit thin. The oily palate it gives you saves it up from being a 2 though. Overall, a world class stout. Glad I followed the recommendations and tried it out for myself. Hopefully I can get one more and store it for a year.

Draft at Downhouse - jet black, frothy tan head. Aroma of licorice, chocolate, cherry, vanilla. Very full on the tongue...sweet woodiness, coffee, vanilla cake through... Nothing really spectacular or innovative about this beer but its very well made, very enjoyable. Well makes booze too.

Poured at 55 degrees into a pint ale glass. Appearance, opaque black with a 1/2 inch head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of chocolate, black licorice, and dark stone fruits. Taste, hop forward, black licorice, and bitter chocolate. Finish, dark chocolate and licorice. A good imperial stout for the money but are better ones out there in the same price range.

Black pour, rich wet sand coloured head, fairly rocky foam, little bit of lace. Sweet caramel aroma, dark coffee roast and cocoa. Taste is of course malt dominant, sweet but not cloying, strong. medium-heavy body. the big abv was undetected. A most excellent imperial stout

appearance: jet black, thick beige head. aroma: huge nose of molasses, black licorice, cocoa powder, hint of booze and vanilla. taste: black licorice, plum and raisin (maybe some port); cocoa powder, molasses, chicory. finish: slick, full palate; slightly boozy, caramel, chocolate, cocoa, and vanilla. notes: Big, smooth stout. Even so, abv well-hidden and it didn?t feel too big. Juuust right. Draft at Owen?s Ordinary.
