Lucky to find this, had been seeking it but gave up until I stumbled upon it unexpectedly in a random small bottle store. Stubby 12oz bottle poured into snifter glass, dark black with thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate and some grass. Taste is bitter dark chocolate, black coffee, marshmallows and toffee. Rich body, dry with lingering finish. Alcohol very well hidden. Very glad I found this, hope it can become a regular seasonal.

Many thanks for this beer to JefVerstraete. Vintage 2014. Oczywiscie kawa, czekolada z 90% kakao i troche trufli. Wytrawne tez sie to wyczuwa. Oprocz dobrego smaku wyglad tez ladny, ciemno brazowa barwa bez zadnych przeswitow.

Bottle 0,355L. Shared by Kita. Pours a deep black color with tan light brown head, that leaves fast. Aroma of dark coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate, dried fruits and caramel. Taste starts light sweet with roasted malts and chocolate, finish is moderate bitter with dried fruits. Full body, smooth texture, soft carbonation. Excellent brew...

Bottle, 0.355l, shared with CanCrusher. Pours pitch black with small and quickly diminishing light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, smoke, dried fruit. Taste starts sweet and rich roasted malty, chocolate and licorice follows, mild fruity and herbal note present, too. Mouthfeel is thick, warming and smooth, while finish is medium bitter. Full body, thick texture and soft to average carbonation in palate. Awesome...

0.33 bottle @ Hotel Borgmestergaarden
Black with a small, brownish head. Aroma of dark malts, roast, molasses, and perhaps a bit of barbecue sauce. Taste is sweet, also malty, a tad fruity, chocolate emerges, prunes make a shy appearance, alcohol can be felt ever so slightly. A full body, a thick texture, and a soft carbonation. Finish is long and gets sourer and bitterer with time. Overall a great beer, relatively simple but straight to the point; does not let down but neither does it particularly impress.

December 18th, 2014 - The Narwhal has character, unique and pleasant, and perhaps not entirely unlike its namesake. Dark and deep, like so many fathoms under the sea, the Narwhal brags about its flavor through the nose, where jerk chicken spices express themselves up front, followed by lower, sweeter notes of barbecue sauce, pork and bacon. A finer touch of pine boughs appear in the clearing of the aftertaste, all served on a thick, floating palate. The flavor uses more licorice to develop its body, with more of the barbecue tastes appearing here, too. Neither too boozy nor too prickly, it is a deep and moderate brew with a lot of flavor per square sip.

Pours jet black with beige head. Scent is heavy mocha with chocolate undertones. Taste is boozy cocoa and coffee. Full body. Aftertaste is warming liquor. A good but not great imperial stout.

2016 12 oz bottle. Pours black as night with a slight tan head. Nose is bitter dark chocolate, coffee, malt. Taste is similar, somewhat mild for an imperial stout. Smooth and drinkable.
