Bottle. It pours a dark, dark brown body, looking clear, and topped by a dense, small, light beige head. Sweetish, bready, caramel maltyness in the aroma, with licorice hints. Some molasses and alcohol. It’s full-bodied and warming, with soft carbonation. Lasting flavor with roasted notes, molasses, bread hints and caramel. Some roasted bitterness. Hints of coffee. After a good while, the hoppy bitterness chimes in, lasting for a long time. A complex and tasteful beer well worth a revisit. 130216

Surprisingly bitter with a heavy roast, coffee, and hop flavor profile. Tons of dark chocolate, molasses, and only a mild toffee sweetness. Some earthy tons, licorice, and a hint of alcohol on the finish.

Bottle, 10.2%. Creamed coffee aroma, hint of smoke. Black colour. Small dark brown head. The flavour starts off sweet with a fruity and sweet hop note. Turns salty and roasted with a late cream note. Late alcohol bitterness along with the bitterness of roast barley. Powerful, but fairly well-balanced. Gets rather boozy when nearing the end of the bottle.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a medium creamy tan head that lasts awhile leaving spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, and coffee. Medium mouthfeel with a rich malt with coffee chocolate and booze with a bitter finish. Alcohol present but not overpowering, a good Imperial stout from Sierra Nevada.
