BenH (3436) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 24, 2013
Bottle. Black with thin tan head. Faint chocolate aroma and a little fruity alcohol. Taste of coffee, chocolate, molasses, licorice and some alcohol. Quite smooth and well balanced but I was expecting something a bit more robust.

Bottle originally from Bitter Virtue, Southampton. Black as any beer I’ve ever seen. Not a lot of carbonation and what there is dissipates quickly. Aroma of chocolate and pine resin. Wow, very hoppy for an imply stout and absolute heaven on the nose. Taste is sweet with a bitter finish, more hoppy - almost floral - flavours coming through along with the normal chocolate/coffee/liquorice flavours so common in strong stouts. This is a masterpiece.

Pours the color of used oil with a ring of brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, dark fruit, molasses, booze. Chewy body. Flavor has loads of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, booze, sweet malt, and a bit of dark fruits. Great for the cold weather.

Deep black with tannish head... Aroma of roasted malts, alcohol... Flavor is coffee, roasted malts, alcohol is very prevalent in this... Decent, a little too boozy ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It is a bit rough around the edges, alcohol is pretty hot, finish is dicey. This is a middle of the road IS. Got it at Wegmans in Erie.
