Dogbrick (14309) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - NOV 10, 2012
Sample at Ale Wine & Spirits in Powell on 11/08/2012. This beer pours a dark brownish-black with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of roasted malt, chocolate and a bit of licorice. Full-bodied with a roasty character of coffee and chocolate malt, along with a bit of dark fruit and anise. The finish is roasty with a burnt malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

A deep dark stout with a thin dark brown head. In aroma, a powdery bitter chocolate, grassy molasses, wild grass. In mouth, a nice smooth chocolate, powdery, coffee grinds, coconut, nice and smooth. Tasted at GRMs tasting.

Not my fave. It is a bit boozy. The flavor of it is hard to describe, not ashy or super fruity but like a mix of both in an odd way.

Christian (13927) - Odense, DENMARK - DEC 29, 2013
Vintage 2012, end of 2013. Black with a lasting tan head. Roasted aroma of licorice, coffee beans, caramel and dark sugar, with quite a bit of alcohol showing. Thick and sweet flavour with licorice and burned notes, and plenty of hop presence and a bit of warm alcohol. Classic American imperial stout, in no need of barrel aging and rare coffee blends...
