Draft pour at Snallygaster 2016. Poured a stark, pitch black color with a small tan head. Aroma was a strong note of woody vanilla, rum notes. Dried dark fruits. Flavor was vanilla wood. sampler and then a 10oz pour which poured almost black with tan head. the nose is of spice rum, chocolate, medium roasted malts hints of caramel. the flavor was ridiculously good. nice spiced rum and oak and the base of the narwhal with that chocolate was amazing. then you add the hints of caramel and roasted malts blended so well i could drink this all night long. brokensail (16696) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 2, 2016
On tap @ Torpedo Room. Nearly black in color with some haze making it look a bit lighter, and a small tan head. Spiced rum, some oak, and a lot of chocolate. Has a bit of coconut to it, some caramel sauce, and toffee. Mild roasted malts and some Kaluha. Slight savory and alcohol notes to it on the finish. Alcohol becomes a bit more noticeable as it warms. On tap at the Torpedo Room. Pours a deep black with a thin tan head. Soy sauce, umami all over. Old wood, warm booze, vanilla. Medium-bodied, soft roast, warm alcohol. Sweet roast and warming alcohol. Roast, more umami and oxidized roast. Chocolate, cocoa, a hint of coffee. Big and roasty, warming alcohol into the finish. Long chocolate, roast, warming alcohol.
