An amber saison with a thin off white head. In aroma, nice sweet malt with light nail polish and orange peels. In mouth, a smoot sweet malt with cloves, oily mouthfeel, curacao, a bit light, not bad. On tap at Belgian Beer Fest, Sept 10, 2011. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 5, 2012

Pouring at session one of Belgian Beer Fest in Boston. Pours a clear gold. Very light wood, soft yeast, musk, wood and toast. Light vinous notes, warm alcohol peeking through. Sweet, vinous, dry wood, yeast and musk. Lingering sweetness but then dries out with soft wood tones. Very nice. slowrunner77 (13206) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 26, 2014
"this was the "coolest" of the new/rare SN beers, if not the best. started out great, with a sour punch in the nose and flavor with only a hint of the saison (a great brew) that it once was. the finish was completely different...all wine-like grapes and more sweet than sour. Soooo cool. But then, after the first sip, the amazing complexity faded. We had another glass to be sure :) but the initial punch was never there again. Still drank very nicely, the only knock being a little too much carbonation. Otherwise a good, unique brew."

Sampled from the tap at 2011 FOBAB. Poured a near clear amber gold with a white head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma had a nice note of syrah that matches with the saison yeast, floral, and sweet grains. Flavor had a nice combination of syrah and floral notes with underlying dark fruits and a bit of dryness in the finish. marcus (10869) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 1, 2012
On tap at Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours reddish copper with a nice beige head and a winey toffee aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with a bit of fruit and a delicate vinous finish. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - JUN 5, 2012
Tap at CK. Low haze, dirty orange pour. No head formation. Ring of bubbles along the edge of the glass. Nose is sweet golden raisins. Taste is tangy, fruit juicy, spicy, mild bourbon, small tomato. Sweet overall. Very little Syrah character. Base saison needs work. bb (9790) - Alamo, California, USA - DEC 2, 2011
Draft. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Spice and yeast aroma with light fruit. Yeast and light fruit flavor with malt. Medium bodied. Yeast andmalt lingers with light spice and light red wine. Suttree (6541) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - OCT 4, 2011
Possibly my favorite beer of the festival, and it comes from a tiny little brewery called...Sierra Nevada? Geez, I suck at being cool at festivals...At any rate, this was light and delicate, with a smooth and subtle mix of winey, saison spice and funk. Lightly sour, as well. Excellent beer.
