750 ml. Bubbly (champagne-like) golden body. Huge, frothy white head, mostly lasting. Yeasty aroma of clove and funk. Spicy hops, pear and a hint of cinnamon and toasted grain. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter, a bitterness that lingers despite the heavy carbonation. Medium body, watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Taste of spices and fruits with a hint of Vitamin B in the finish. Overly sweet, though the fizz washes it away before it becomes too cloying. The lingering bitterness also helps balance the sweet. Moderately alcoholic, peppery aftertaste. Pretty straightforward strong ale. HughConway (831) - Washington, USA - OCT 21, 2012
Bottle, pours hazy golden, stiff white head. Aroma is sour malt. Taste is sour and malt. Very solid beer. malrubius (2900) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - OCT 21, 2012
Bottle from Decicco. Hazy golden straw with lasting head. Spicy herbal unripe peach vanilla and dough aroma. Peachy vanilla fruity sweetness with very dry herbal woody finish. Perfect Belgian soft mouthfeel, which is very rare. Excellent. sherm1016 (1274) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 19, 2012
750ml bottle, split with my bride. Pours a light amber color with a big white head. Aroma is yeasty, spicy, peppery, a little bready. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, cereal, yeasty, clove, with a clean, spicy finish. patrick767 (4063) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - OCT 18, 2012
bottle - Pours hazy gold with a huge off-white head. It smells yeasty and fruity. The taste is sweet with apple and citrus notes and Belgian yeast spice. The finish of this bubbly brew is somewhat dry. Well done.

This pours a golden color with a booming off-white head, but fortunately not a gusher as I thought it might be (mostly because of the warning label on the bottle). There’s banana and citrusy esters in the aroma, with some funky yeast, clove notes, wheat, and a light cinnamon spice. All around it’s a nice, fairly complex scent. Highly carbonated brew and crisp on the palate. The flavor has a pleasant dry spice that compliments the sweet fruity esters well. Apple and pear seems to come to mind. While I’d hardly call this overly funky, there’s enough funky yeast to satisfy. A bready yeasty note thickens the body a bit but leaves it still very drinkable. I enjoyed this. It’s not world class or anything but does a lot of things right. So far I’ve been very happy with the Ovila line of beers I’ve tried so far. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - OCT 16, 2012
Caged and corked 750mL pours with a deep yet sort of pale coppery sort of gold body supporting a weak dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up spicy Belgian yeast, apple and bubble gum estery notes. The taste seems straight up Triple like to me with a mix of sweet apple notes, Belgian yeasty spices, a raisin note here and there and just a hint of wild yeast . . . maybe. Good stuff. Beer from recent Maine trip. Slightly boozy golden, but still good drinkable and more of a Belgian strong. Big foamy lasting head. Nice yeast, simple and slightly sweet. A little orange citrus. Soft mouthfeel. MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 8, 2012
My Bottom Line : BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - OCT 7, 2012
This Belgian-style Strong Ale is authentic from aroma to mouthfeel, from flavor profile to finish. Great job.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A fluffy head of foam garnishes the misty blond.
-Carbonation is appropriately expansive. This is highly effervescent.
-Lots of doughy yeast flavors adorn herbal hops, bubblegum esters and light citrus fruit.
-Alcohol warmth seals each sip.
Bottle. Gusher. Massive carbonation, huge white head, golden hued with a light haze. Aromas are estery, mildly malty, lightly phenolic, low 4VG clove, pepper, pear, lightly herbal hop, grassy, ripe apple. Flavors of pear, vanilla, almond, sugary (dry though), floral, sage, pepper, alcohol. Dry and herbal. Lively bubbles, very dry with mild esters and stronger phenols. Good!
