Hazy gold beer with a large white head. Palate is airy and crisp and semi dry. Strong minerals. Sweet malt. Sugary sweet floral flavours, dry. Seltzer minerals. Sweet dried fruits and peppery spice. Semi dry finish. Lots going on here but it’s all a bit dry.
Sipped this one while listening to Steve Grossman telling us the tale of their relationship with the abbey and its 12th century Cistercian stone. Cloudy golden color, small white head. On tap at the Blind Tiger, NYC during their Sierra Nevada event. Pours clearish gold with a fine, white head. Light tangy citrus in the nose, plenty of rich, bready malts. medium sweet flavor with some alcohol kick, dough, modest citrus, very light funk. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. clear golden pout with a tall white head. Very fruit forward aroma with lots of nice pear, apple, tons of grape, and golden raisin notes. A mild booziness, sweet pale malt and sugar, some banana, clove, and coriander. A hint of white pepper and yeast, too. Intense white grape flavor to this. Good pear, apple, golden raisin, and banana, too. Moderate malt sweetness and spiciness of clove and white pepper. Bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with a small frothy off white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is yeast banana and clove. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet fruity malt with pepper and spice and light dry finish. A good Belgian strong ale from Sierra Nevada.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a hazy gold with a lasting off white head. Aromas of straw, yeast, pear, pineapple asnd light white pepper. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish.
