On tap at Sister. I found this beer rather interesting to begin with, and much more so when I realized it smells and tastes exactly like a terremoto. For those of you unfamiliar with a terremoto, it is a wine and ice cream concoction popular in Chile. That’s all. bhensonb (15621) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 5, 2012
Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. For some reason SN rep told them it was bourbon barrel. Lively and introspective discussion and tasting ensued. All agree it was very brandy. So: Pours very dark brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma of vinous dark fruits. Full bodied. Flavor is dark fruit, treacle, oak, vanilla and a definite brandy aspect. Very tasty ale. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - DEC 2, 2012
On tap. Dark brown with ruby highlights and almost no head. Big chocolate, butterscotch, brown sugar, vanilla and smokey oak aroma and taste with red wine flavors throughout. Silky but oily palate. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - DEC 2, 2012
On draft at Tap 25. It pours deep reddish brown with a khaki head. The aroma is very strange to me with notes of tequila, brandy, brown sugar, fig, molasses and a touch of maple syrup. Very alcoholic nose. The flavor is also very strong with the alcohol and vinous with raisins, dark fruit, brown sugar, wood. Thinner body than the regular version, but oily. Not bad. A bit brash and challenging to drink. JPDurden24 (1675) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - NOV 24, 2012
On draft at the Watering Hole, dark brownish black color, aroma of dark fruit, brandy and oak. Taste is sweet and good. Brandy aging comes through well.
