Probably the best beer I have had in years. I never wanted it to end. Poured a deep purple with minimal head. Nose was dark fruit without being overbearing. Flavours of wonderful dark fruit, but again, very, very subtle. It may have plum, but it was used perfectly. DoublEE (782) - South Euclid, Ohio, USA - MAR 7, 2013
It’s definately one of my favorite beers of 2013 so far. It’s a dark beer but not too heavy! The hints of plum and banana were subtle enough to enjoy with out over-powering the dark coca. Excellent beer but be careful, this beer comes in at 10.3%! A couple of bottles will do. Hop_Hedonist (625) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - OCT 13, 2013
Wow - spicy fruit jumps out the glass - mirrored on the palate plus sweet Choc malt after-taste - interesting drinking but not something I can drink much of - massive in all ways: sweetness, body, alcohol and spicy complexity - almost overwhelming! Cybercat (6010) - Georgia, USA - MAR 22, 2013
Comes out of the tap a rich, warm coffee brown with a decent, if not overly, persistent tan head that leaves generous lacing. Robust aroma has an overtone of plum and malty, banana and earthy notes. Satisfying flavor has a hearty fruity tone, plum plus some banana, as well as earthy, nutty and malty tones and an appreciable alcohol nip. Firm, thick texture leaves a fizzy, earthy, fruity and slightly woody finish. Let this sugar plum dance on your tongue. DocLock (10970) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 25, 2013
Draft at Drafting Room. Poured hazy plum colored with minimal head. Nose was caramel malt, plum, yeasty funk, tart fruit. Tastes yeasty, funky, tart, plummy, with a great balance, delicious flavor, and a tremendous fruity, tart, yeasty finish. Holy shit, this one is good.

This is a very rich, succulent beer. Appearance is ok w / a modest tan head , almost opaque, but clear garnet. Aroma is vinous yet malty& alluring. Flavor is ~ nose with enough tang & bitter to balance. Excellent body. Ditto finish.

This is a superb Belgian Ale by Sierra Nevada. I’m not sure that MORE plum is necessary in a quad, but somehow, it wasn’t too overwhelming. dukeredhair (243) - California, USA - APR 14, 2013
This is a great beer. Pours deep dark red/ purplish with a tan head. aroma of figs, cherries, plums, leather, earth. taste is dark fruits and belgian spice with a really nice sweet backend from the sugar plums. palate is a bit sticky on account of the plums but as a desert beer this is hard to beat. happy to have found this. unclemattie (4357) - Georgia, USA - MAY 9, 2013
375mL bottle, caged & corked. Dark brown color, light tan foam. Smells of dark fruit, loads of sugar in the nose, alcohol, figs, with hints of chocolate coffee, and cough drop. Huge fruit esters. Heavy bodied, creamy textured. Many layers on top of the malt complexity. Some spice, clove, airy licorice, raisin, roasted cereal, dark fruit, cocoa. Earthy finish, hidden booze. On tap at Ford’s Garage Ft Myers,FL...beautiful purple black with a fantastic earthy-fruit aroma. Big and complex, yet subtle flavor of ripe dark fruit and well worn leather. This has a very vinous character to it and a nice silky mouth feel as well...awesome.
