3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Picked up at Brewforia Eagle for about $4... definitely more expensive than other places in town, but I was in Eagle, so.. oh well.
Pours with a surprisingly short lasting white head atop a clear orange brew.
The aroma shows clovey phenols combining with the citrus... quite a bit of residual pale maltiness IMO.
Flavor is more leaning toward the esters with some pear and banana.. still a decent amount of clove... the citrus and peppercorn flavor merge more toward the finish... still too malty
Body is heavy for a saison... carbonation is also a bit light adding to the heavier body.
Decent beer at a decent price if I purchase elsewhere.
Lots of plum on the nose. Carmel and plum on the tongue. Very enjoyable. Lots of carb. Sweet light puckering sweet. enjoyable. Impressive.

Bottle: Crisp and refreshing. Spicy aroma with a great flavor. Quite tasty. Some saisons are annoying to me but this is good stuff. hopdog (12673) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 31, 2016
Caged and corked bottle. Poured an orange / golden color with an averaged sizeed head. Citrus, oranges, pepper, and fruity. mkel07 (6147) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAY 26, 2016
Bottle from Beer Cartel 260516. Make no mistake this is a seriously good beer that looks amazing in the glass with a deep orange colour and a head that is there one minute and gone the next. Aroma is quite subtle with citrus and some sweetness mixed in with it. In the mouth there is the flavour that you get when you bite into a segment of a fresh sweet mandarin and right back in the finish there is a peppery kick, again subtle. Well brewed as are all Sierra Nevada beers. oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 13, 2016
Pours a golden yellow with minimal fizzy head. Musty hay aromas with a dry slightly fruity taste.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2016 Fairly clear amber pour with a much smaller beige head than normally created by a saison. Sweet aromas of honey, mandarin, coriander, only a little straw, some bubblegum(?). The taste is also quite sweet - prominent candi sugar, slightly burned toffee, lemon, mandarin, lots of spice, fresh crusty bread, a little straw. Dry finish. Medium to full bodied and very lightly acidic. Quite enjoyable but more in line with a spiced belgian golden strong ale than a saison. gururyan (727) - Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA - FEB 6, 2016
Poured from bottle into snifter, can taste all the notes described on bottle. A touch bright and carbonated, but a decent brew.

Bottle from Stone in Asagaya. Pours a hazy orange with a small foamy ring that lasts throughout on the edge of the glass. Orange marmalade, honey tea, apple and light citrus compote. Crazy sweet on the palate...like marmalade sweet. Bread and honey like body that weighs down the beer and starts to get a little cloying. Peppercorns on the finish. Not bad, but too sweet and heavy for my kind of saison.
