On Tap hazy orange light amber witha small wispy head. Light sweet caramely aroms and flavors. LIght on the claimed peppery spice. SOme brown sugar and valinna. Tasty bubbleflubber (2235) - Swannanoa, North Carolina, USA - MAY 9, 2015
On tap at the Creekside Tavern, this pours orange–amber into the glass with a wispy head that leaves light soap ring lacing. Aromas bring forth a comforting nod to my grandmother's home... candied oranges and mixed spices. Favors of orange, melon, grassiness, and spices, finishing with a nice spicy wallop of herbs and a hint of salt. Very complex mouthfeel with a medium-full body and somewhat semi-dry palate. Nice saison here.

375 ml corked and caged bottle. Amber orange color topped by a small creamy white tight head. Tart wheat malt aroma is redolent of coriander and white pepper. Sweet toasted malt flavor has notes of coriander yeast and spice. Notes of orange are subtle, yet present. Finish is citrusy with peppery notes. Tasty. Cybercat (6010) - Georgia, USA - APR 25, 2015
Comes out of tap hazy apricot golden with a substantial creamy eggshell head. Aroma has strong notes of banana, pear, yeast and butterscotch with a peep of malt. Pleasing flavor starts with banana and adds pear, malt, yeast and subtle butterscotch to the mix. It is fairly sweet, but not too sweet for a good beer. Firm, viscous texture has a strong and persistent fizz - you can feel it going down the hatch. Go bananas! OsuStu (269) - - FEB 21, 2015
25.4 oz bottle. Hazy layered orange with a tall white head. Aroma of sweet citrus, straw, pepper, spices, orange peel. Light pepper, tangerines, tropical fruit, coriander, biscuit. A little yeasty, a little heavy. Crisp with silky finish.

Okay, this may be the 2nd Sierra Nevada beer I’m drinking tonight that I’ve hoarded until it’s past it’s prime (probably have had it well over a year now). Unlike the last one (Hopsichord), this still tastes like what I remember the Ovila Saison tasting, just not quite as fresh (but still drinkable). Clear light amber color with a thin white head. Nice Belgian farmhouse aroma but on the light side. Body is dry with a good saison flavor of hay and coriander but again on the light side. There’s a light corn and caramel sweetness that balances the dryness in the body. Finishes light, slightly sweet and dry. I’ve had this over the years at the brewery and it’s definitely improved and come up to style. I love the Ovila line and the collaboration with the New Clairvaux monks! Pours from 12.7 oz bottle (says 7.5%) a hazy brass color with a small white head that soon recedes to a fine film. Aroma of fresh grains, bananas, lemons, mild pepper, fresh cut field grasses and some more spice - maybe, a little clove and coriander. Flavour is dry with plenty of earth, pepper, grass, slight lemon, and herbs. Finishes with pepper and earth, and is definitely more about the hops than the yeast. Easy to drink, decent saison beer. On draft at Landmark Americana just off at Rowan University campus. I found this to be darker and richer than traditional saison. Quality deserves another same in the heat of the summer months. Idigguns (16) - Davie, Florida, USA - OCT 16, 2014
12.7 oz bottle. 7.5% ABV. 2013 release.
Aroma: sweet, caramel, woody, spices, especially pepper.
Appearance: clear, gold with small off-white head, no lacing.
Taste: sweet yet peppery, hint of banana, a little too much alcohol taste.
Palate: heavy body, slick, a bit creamy, soft carbonation, strong finish.
Overall: may be a bit heavy to sip on. Could pair well with food. superspak (5871) - Waterford, Michigan, USA - OCT 10, 2014
750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 5/26/2011. Pours slightly hazy bright orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lemon, tangerine, apricot, pear, apple, light banana, clove, pepper, honey, bread, herbal, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast and moderate pale malt sweetness; with good strength. Taste of lemon, tangerine, apricot, pear, apple, light banana, clove, pepper, honey, bread, herbal, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of earthy yeast spiciness and slight tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, tangerine, apricot, pear, apple, pepper, honey, bread, herbal, straw, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast and moderate pale malt sweetness; with a great malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice saison. All around great complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast and moderate pale malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.
