From tap at Three Penny Taproom. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Classic light yeasty and peppery aroma. Mild fruity flavoured. Light on the sweet side. Peppery, yeasty and yet mellow fruity. Travlr (24930) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - OCT 5, 2011
Draft. Very strange to name a beer after that little fleshy thing that hangs down in the back of your throat. Cloudy variegated orange. Aroma of non-pumpkin fruits and small animals (in a good way). Taste has sour citrus, grapefruit bubblegum. Interesting variation on the style. mcberko (17867) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 9, 2011
750mL bottle, split 3 ways, pours a cloudy orange with a big white head. Aroma of orange zest, lemon tang, spices and pepper. Flavour of tangerine, lemon tang and citrus. Light bodied with a citrusy finish. Quite bland. Has none of that funky or rustic qualities that make a saison great. Oakes (17699) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 25, 2011
So can Sierra Nevada - generally a really good brewery - make a Belgian style ale? Not if this is any indication. Cloudy tan-beige. Nice thick head. Dusty, slightly floral yeast aroma. Sweetish palate. Slightly floral and sticky. Ugh - sweet saison with no real nuance. Where’s the hops? jtclockwork (16603) - , New Jersey, USA - FEB 4, 2012
Bottle. Pours dark orange with slightly off white head. Nose/taste of yeast, fresh orange peel, dried citrus, herbal notes, white pepper and flowers. Medium body. Finishes dry and herbal.

A: The beer pours a slightly cloudy orange color with a fluffy white head.
S: The nose is fairly citrusy with orange peel and lots of floral notes. A fair amount of phenolics and yeast with a mild bready note. There is just a tiny bit of coriander to it.
T: Decently phenolic and spicy with a nice citrus peel. Orange and lemon peel with a light floral note and lots of bread and wheat. There is a bit of sweetness to it, along with some yeast and apple skin.
M: The body and carbonation are both medium.
O: Perhaps I just had overly high expectations, but this was just okay to me. Not as good as the Dubbel. bhensonb (15252) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 14, 2011
750 c&c from Taylors Market in Sacramento, CA. Opened with a bang. Pours Orange gold with a creamy 2 finger off-white head. Smells of earth and fruit. Hints of citrus and ripe peach. Med body. Flavor is nicely barnyard. Maybe a hint of sour. Earthy. Even brings old fashioned linoleum paste to mind. Astringent. Dry. Yeasty too. This is really good and I think spot on style. Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange with a large creamy off white head leaving sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is yeast and citrus. Thin mouthfeel with pepper and fruit and lingering dry finish. Easy to drink a refreshing saison from Sierra Nevada.
