Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a delightful example of the classic pale ale style. It has a deep amber color and a exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. The fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor are the results of the generous use of the best Cascade hops.<P> Bottle Conditioned.

UPDATED: JUL 20, 2014 Pours a nice golden red color with minimal head. Aroma is of hops and citrus along with a little grass and sweetness. Tastes hoppy and citrus with a nice bitter finish. A great Pale Ale.

Nice dark golden color and good head. Hoppy, but not overdone. Well balanced. A classic.

Bottle. Pours a fine haze with tiny streams of carbonation. Light copper looks like strong iced tea. Floral aroma with small pine notes and hints that a sweet taste will follow. It really doesn’t and I really can’t find much here. Very faint sugar comes with mostly bready bitterness. A dry mouthfeel fades to a nutty aftertaste. I would probably call this a better Natty Lite, and that’s not really saying much.

Clear light amber. Foamy, tightly knit beige head. Easy but firm carbonation. Alluring aroma of grapefruit and dry pine needles. Initially crisp, lightly bitter but staunchly hoppy with dry pine needles, grapefruit pith and dry malts. Medium light body. Clean and arid but appeasing with its hoppy backbone. Finishes with a lengthy bite of pine and freshly shaved grapefruit peels. Really nice.

Expensive, but worth it every now and then. Pine, spice flavour more reminiscient of a winter brew, but delicious nonetheless.

12 oz bottle. Pured with thin white quickly disappearing head leaving no lace. Wonderful hoppy aroma and fabulous golden color. Nice clean bitter malty flavor with strong citrusy sweet aftertaste.

12oz: Pours a amber gold/red color. Smallish head, quickly diminishing. Very hoppy aroma, sweet. Sligntly hoppy & sweet, malty, sweet aftertaste.

I have never been so torn on an opinion of a brew before. I loved the flavor, the aftertaste was grapefruity as hell. the colder the better. don’t try this one warm you’ll hate yourself for it later. I gave it a good mark, so I would say it’s worth trying, but it was about 7-8 bucks for a sixer where I bought it, so i may not buy it again.

i don’t know man. i used to love this beer. i remember one night having a couple of these, then having a couple st. pauli girls. the latter were god-awful. but i recently picked up a 12-pack of the bottles, and i agree with my friend zeswaft (look him up) when he said some batches of the SN pale ale can be really grassy tasting. this one is that way. it’s still one of my favorite beers at a bar (like honker’s, it can be a godsend at an otherwise shitty bar in chicago). but nevertheless, i’m not happy with this batch.
