This is a great beer although I used to say that I could not drink this beer, now I brink it all the time. Sierra Nevada is my second favorite major brewery next to Samuel Adams. beerledgend (1196) - Waterloo, Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 23, 2006
Dark amber in colour with nice whiite head. Big hop aroma, nice big bitter taste. America can make good beer!!!! vanvenlo (1901) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - JAN 22, 2006
22 Jan 06 - Nice light sweet fruit hop aroma. Cloudy amber-brown colour, good head but doesn’t retain and lacing is a bit ordinary. Big hop and light malt flavour. Lingering dry hop bitter finish and a good mouthfeel. auerbrau (3203) - Ithaca, New York, USA - JAN 20, 2006
UPDATED: SEP 1, 2006 Joining the masses. A straw amber pour. Head of sparse off-white. Flavor of those delicious fruit, grain and hop. I still taste pears, with light orange rind resin. Really not different from draft. Finishes a touch tart. warriorx99 (85) - USA - JAN 20, 2006
Pours a nice amber color with a thin head. This beer has a strong aroma of hops. This is a smooth beer, medium body, with a quick finish. A good hoppy beer, but pretty bitter.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2007 My rating is low simply because this is really not my style. Far too bitter for me, not a fan of piney, chloriney tasting beers.
I have revisited this beer, and I love it now! Perfect example of an APA. Bright clean hops abound with some very faint sweetness in the body. Downright refreshing. alabamajohn (67) - Alabama, USA - JAN 18, 2006
This beer should get extra points for being so widely available. It should also get credit for introducing so many middle americans to craft style beer and the flavor of hops. morrdt (715) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - JAN 18, 2006
A nice light gold brew with a light head. Balanced flavor, a bit bitter to me but very tasty. A good pale ale. paulmetzger (154) - Pocatello, Idaho, USA - JAN 17, 2006
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2006 Effervescent and pale golden. Well carbonated. Spicy and somewhat flowery aroma. Very well balanced flavor. Not too sweet malt meets spicy turning to lingering bitter. Creamy texture that is picked up by the carbonation. Crisp, clean, refreshing, well balanced. This is the standard for american pale ales. Quevillon (3143) - Boisbriand, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 17, 2006
Mon premier ale pale, anglais ou américain. Premier micro et première vrai américaine. Dégusté à mon premier Mondial de la Bière en 2000 et je l’ai bien aimé, c’était un signe de chose à venir.
