UPDATED: JUN 8, 2007 Its an ok IPA. I think the ones from Goose Island are much better. Not a bad choice but much better choices are out there.

Everyones favorite IPA, except, I dont like IPAs. Great color and palate, refreshing and bitter, but I hate the aftertaste, very funky on my tongue.

A nice coppery color with a strong hop aroma. Very nice hoppy flavor - better than many IPAs out there. I like this beer and can always find it at the supermarket. A great every day beer.

Classic American Pale Ale - nice copper hue with a full white head. Faint malt and sharp hop aroma. Very clean, mildly fruity with a lasting hop finish. Bottle Conditioning leaves this beer with perfect carbonation and amazing clarity.

The best beer/ale for the money (6 pack $7.49). Goes down real easy. One of the best daily drinking beers that wont drain your pocketbook.

Bottle poured a clear gold with a white head. Aromas of carmel, pine, and spice. Palate is smooth and slightly resiny. Flavors of bread, earth, pine, with a bitter finish.

Bottle. Pours a topheavy red-gold with a white head. Very fresh aroma, mostly of mild hops. The flavor is much the same: smooth and hoppy, with a few spicy notes. Well rounded and tasty.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2008 Bottle. . . again. Pours a fairly clear golden hue with a tall, frothy white head. Serviceable bitterness is present in the aroma in the form of pine and citrus. It falls slightly flat. The body is average, though quite refreshing. An acceptable acidity is up front highlighting some citrus notes and caramel balances things out. Its nothing to write home about, but it sure is solid, balanced, and reliable. I still often use this as the par line for other APAs.

I had this again in a blind tasting of three APAs and this was my favorite. Just thought Id note that.

Bottle. Pours a crystalline copper color with a tall white head that lasts and lasts. The aroma is doughy with modest caramel and a dash of grapefruits. The mouthfeel is tastefully sparkling which highlights the citrus bitterness. Malts are simple, clean, and to the point. This is a straight forward, clean, tasteful American pale ale. Pretty much the standard.

Sampled from bottle. This is one of the beers that opened my eyes to craft brewing when I lived in Northern Cali. SNPA pours copper with a lasting, off-white head and intricate lacing. Aroma is rich with malts and has subtle American hops (floral, spice and pine). The flavor is just to the bitter side of balanced with a strong caramel malt profile and sublte, spicy hops. Medium-bodied and moderately carbonated at best. Very easy to drink and a good solid beer for any occasion.
