UPDATED: JUN 3, 2015 330 ml bottle from Jrve Selver. Pours nice, slightly hazy golden with a little head. Aroma has a bit of fruitiness, floral hops. I guess it has gone a bit stale compared with what it should be closer to bottling date - but its still good. Taste has abundance of bitter hops, strong malt backbone balanced with heavy hops. Not much of carbonation left. Doesnt have much fragrance though, quite down the earth drink. Has some lingering bitterness at the end. Good beer, not too pretentious and a great example of the style. Will try it again, especially when I get it closer to the brewery, not the half a world away as I am trying it right now. // Re-rate in June 3, 2015. Got it now in Japan, quite fresh. Aroma is still quite laid back, taste is a lot maltier than I remember from first time.Citric hops, making my tongue tingle. Still, simple in contemporary terms but I can understand why this has become an icon in the beer world. +0.3 points

From bottle in IPA glass. Pours golden/amber with nice head and distinct piney aroma of Cascade hops. Nice bitterness against the caramel malt. This was my gateway beer into the craft beer world a quarter century ago. Always nice to come home to it

pours amber with white head that lingers. Medium texture, with average carbonation. Great balance of hops, not over doing it but making sure you taste it. Slight hint of pine to it. Nice and crisp finish. Not bad at all.

Pours golden clear. Medium carbonation. White head that lingers. Floral fruity aroma, that leads into a bread biscuit malt notes. Slight caramel notes. Firm bitterness, good malt balance. Some caramel taste between bitterness. Some fruit citrus hop flavour. Overall: good pale ale, well balanced, nothing over the top in terms of hops or malt or mouthfeel. Something I would recommend to a craft noob.
