Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is a delightful example of the classic pale ale style. It has a deep amber color and a exceptionally full-bodied, complex character. The fragrant bouquet and spicy flavor are the results of the generous use of the best Cascade hops.<P> Bottle Conditioned.

Excellent APA dominated by top quality cascade hops. Great Balance between aroma/flavor/malt and bitterness. After all these years quality is consistent and it is the Pale Ale we all use as a reference point!

Aroma of citrus and herbs. Taste of grapefruit, pine and biscuits. Malty but crisp. Really well balanced and enjoyable.

Pours a clear orange with slight head and enduring lacing. Malty aroma of bread and hay. Taste is nice combination of lightly sweet leaning towards medium sourness, finishing about the same with lingering grapefruit bitterness. Nice summer beer with fried chicken, etc. Would buy again.

Drank with Timon 09-06-17 while working on my website. A bit like soft pils (without the harshness) with some hops. Mwah.

Bottle bought in Rome. Hazy golden with off white head. Floral grassy and earthy. Taste the same with light bitterness. Quite decent.

Sampled at a blind tasting, with Dr. Beer. Served in black glassware. smell is subtile, but prominent. Bit floral, some mild peppery notes from the yeast. Mild maltyness , bit biscuit. Some tea-like aspects, even though thats probably not in there for real. They do pop in mind, thnx to the subtile complexity of the scent. Taste is moderate bitter, rather floral. Clean yeastyness, presumably lager-type yeast, going forth on the subtile, yet recognizable lager yeast taste. Not very aromatic hops. Mouthfeel tends towards the rather creamy side, with noticable dryness (from the Sugar?) which I do think is added here. Mild sweet ending. ---- note ---- I was extremely surprised this was a legendary pale ale. I really thought it was a not-so-good lager. Pretty sure our bottle was to old / not kept the best way imaginable. Should def re-rate this when I have the chance to get a new bottle.

A nice pale ale that is pleasant to drink with good hops coming through. This beer is not anything special though!

SONOFWODEN (56) - New York, USA - JUN 7, 2017
Pours with golden to amber color and >1 thick head that sticks around and leaves nice rings around the glass. Really good carbonation. Aroma is balanced pine, citrus, maybe a little spice and then ends with malt. Medium body with great but simple taste. If your looking for something that simply tastes great and that everyone should enjoy at the gateway beer level, this would be a terrific choice. If I wanted to pick up a six to take to a party, that I know everyone should like, this would be a no-brainer.

(355 ml bottle) This is a bottle-conditioned beer, pouring a hazy golden-amber, with vigorous carbonation, a dense white head, and specks of yeast floating in the glass. The aroma is light and hoppy, with pine sap, spice, fresh grass and a hint of lemon peel and grapefruit, followed by some caramel and biscuity malt. It’s bittersweet, and clean through to the finish, with a medium smooth mouthfeel, and a lively effervescence. Clean and refreshing - a classic APA.
