porterhouse (1580) - Boothbay, Maine, USA - OCT 25, 2005
(Bottle) Dark mahogany brown body, full frothy tan head. Good lacing. Aroma not strong but mostly coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel medium dry, fairly smooth. Flavor mostly roasted coffee, but mild. Decent porter, flavor a bit too mild though. Pinnhead (93) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 24, 2005
An excellent every day beer. A bit fruity and sweet but not overpowering. Another great meal beer. DrBayern (1139) - Morehead City, North Carolina, USA - OCT 22, 2005
Dark brown/ruby with a medium tan head. Roated malt dominates the aroma. Smooth malty sweetness well balnced by roasted malt flavors. Well balanced by touch of hop bitterness in the finish. A reliably good porter, and true to the style. Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 18, 2005
(Bottle 35,5 cl) Very dark and pretty with a warm, reddish hue. Creamy, dense head and a nose full of roasted malt. Flavour of roasted malt, but not sharp, bitter or burned - this is surprisingly sweet with notes of chocolate. Very high drinkability and accessibility, with strong flavours in spite of a rather light body. 181005 bmanning (142) - Holly Springs, North Carolina, USA - OCT 16, 2005
Pours dark brown and reddish with a quickly receding thin head that dissipated to nothing. Sweet chocolate, caramel, and mocha aroma. A lot of malts in the taste with a kick of hop bitterness in the finish. Rich bitter coffee taste with chocolate undertones. Very creamy texture and nice level of sweet to balance the bitter. Very good porter.

UPDATED: DEC 13, 2008 [bottle - 12 oz] Black pour with red highlights and a nice tan head. Very nice and roasty coffee aroma with hints of caramel and some chocolate. Roasty and toasty taste of malts and some burnt coffee hints with a very nice and roasted coffee and slightly sweet finish. A bit watery, but very good. harrisoni (18807) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - OCT 15, 2005
Bottle from Utobeer. Not too much subtlety or balance here. Black beer with thin beige head. Over the top sweetish hop nose. Hint of choc/coffee but too dominated by hops. Fullish in mouth. Finish has more choc/coffee at last but still this whacking mack of hops unbalances it. tsp (113) - DENMARK - OCT 14, 2005
(Bottle 12 fl. oz.) In short, a very good porter. Pours dark brown/black. Off white head. Strong notes of coffee and caramel. Lovely chocolate/malty taste. Great! atpayne (615) - Zionsville, Indiana, USA - OCT 6, 2005
