You could drown me in this beer. I tried to give up drinking and this beer alone kept me coming back for more. Best of the best.

Another one of my favorites. This porter pours with a dark brown color (nearly black). Full of coffee and chocolate flavors. Wonderful aroma, and incredibly smooth. ambroze (22) - Old Hickory, Tennessee, USA - NOV 30, 2004
hico countyís version of a porter. This one is smooth, a bit roasted, but without the common nutty flavor found in many porters. Not too malty. Nothing dominates or jumps out as acutely descriptive of this one. Dynamind69 (29) - San Miguel, California, USA - MAR 17, 2007
This is a fantastic porter. It pours deep dark brown with a small mocha colored head.It has an incredible flavor of dark chocolate malts with notes of Kola nut ,prunes and mineral water, the water gives it a refreshing electric palate leaving your tongue tingling and mouth watering,it is just exeptional. It has a medium hops presence to let you know youíre drinking a porter, but not an overwhelming bitter, balanced just right, the flavor reminds of a russian imperial stout more than a porter. This is the one of the best Porters/stouts on the planet with a very unique flavor.A must buy.Made by a great California Brewmaster, great job! Only the third porter Iíve had, but itís really good. Excellent roasted flavor. Not as good as Anchor, but still worth trying, and itís nice to have for a little diversity in the fridge. Heaven knows you canít just drink the same thing every day! garrison (812) - Cin. city, Ohio, USA - AUG 2, 2003
A very, very good Porter... taking second place only to Anchor Porter in my opinion of
American-made Porters! alcoholica (128) - Dublin, Ohio, USA - NOV 10, 2003
UPDATED: NOV 12, 2003 Very dark body creamy thick tan head. Smell of hops instantly. Roasted malty flavor with a bite of hops for bitterness. Very well balanced beer. biggenius29 (155) - Hamilton, Michigan, USA - JUL 12, 2007
A good sweet roasted caramel first taste followed by a sharp bitterness, then a finish of mild coffee. Overall a very good porter, the texture is a little on the watery side. ocdrinker909 (33) - USA - APR 11, 2010
16oz glass at Stone brewery on tap,This Porter is a deep reddish brown with a small, creamy off-white head that sticks around. The aroma is a strong dark malt with molasses, coffee, toffee, vanilla, licorice-- itís complex! The flavor seets lightly sweet and lightly bitter. The body is creamy and chewy. It has a little alcohol in the aftertaste. Love it.
