3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Medium bodied Imp stout that’s roasty and slightly sweet. Easy to 9rink at 9%. I don’t get any of the ginger or lime notes, but solid brew overall.
From 12oz bottle from brewery. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Chocolate and roasted malt give way to clove, apple pie, cinnamon, then brighter flavors and a mulled finish. (notes, 2015) anders37 (27062) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAY 3, 2017

@ Akkurat 17-3-27: trevlig doft och smak med stor ton av kaffe och mynta. Lite after eight-känsla. Kleg (404) - The Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 17, 2017
Pitch black pour with a small light brown head and good retention. Good lacing. Thin mouthfeel for a stout. Taste is burnt cocoa, spiced coffee, some dark fruits and alcohol. Too strong. 8.9 ABV isn’t hidden enough for me. DiarmaidBHK (5913) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 19, 2016
Draft at Sierra Nevada NC. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Leaves trace lacing in the glass. Notes of caramel malt on the nose. Fairly malty on the tongue with the ginger coming through the most. Hides it’s booze well. Solid, drinkable, but not spectacular. drfabulous (8585) - Lexington, Kentucky, USA - NOV 26, 2016
Draught at Asheville brewpub. Dark and roast and well done with some spice and hops. AdamChandler (5181) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - APR 18, 2016
not quite black, lots of red edges. the faint aroma I do get is better and ginger. Quite spicy. Cinnamon, honey, clove, ginger, tree bark, roast starts and is overloaded b spice. I do get barrel at the start and finish, certainly whiskey barrel. Surprised by the ABV. it drinks much lighter than the abv suggests.
