bottle. this beer is without ruths. watermelon and starchy burnt potato nose with dried leaves and bread crumb toaster notes. resinous, chewy, syrupy body with the same fizzy carbonation and abrasive mineral texture as most Sierra Nevada. maeib (8749) - Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - MAY 1, 2012
Keg Euston Tap London. A copper coloured beer with a white head. A full bodied citrussy beer with sweetness which balances reasonably well. A good body. Banana like notes present from the rye. It’s drinkable but all a bit average really. hophead21112 (218) - Louisville, Colorado, USA - APR 30, 2012
Slightly hazy amber pour with an off-white head. Good retention. Aroma is sweet grain, light caramel, slightly herbal, light fruit. Medium-full body, mild carbonation, low alcohol warmth. Starts off bittersweet leading to bitter on the mid palate and finishes bitter and dry. Not too shab. Onenote81 (1002) - Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA - APR 30, 2012
Originally reviewed: 2/7/12. Poured this into a pint glass. Pours a dark tawny brown, with faint ruby tints. Great rocky off-white head. Cascading sticky lace clings to the glass for dear life. Sierra Nevada knows what’s up when it comes to aromatic hops. Love the nose on the one. Sharp green hops, citrus rind, with an herbal finish. The body lends itself well to this hybrid. Moderate depth and decent carbonation bolster up this spicy beer. The rye imparts a subtle smack of spicy twang, but nothing over the top. Lip-smacking juicy hops abound, as expected and hoped for. Another SN trademark. These characteristics meld very well together, leaving me sipping and gulping for more. Mild sweetness in the middle, but then rounded out with another smack of bitterness. Great beer. Hope to see this around year after year. beachbum25 (1092) - Powellville, Maryland, USA - APR 28, 2012
On tap @ Pizza Tugo’s, Ocean City Md-Copper pour w/a moderate tan head. Some hop, some spice, a little grain....didn’t really do a whole lot for me. Seemed kind of muddled. This brewer is very hit or miss for me, I can’t stand SNPA, but I do like some of their bigger beers. Can’t say I thought too much of this one though.

12 oz Bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a huge off-white/tan head. Aroma of citrus hops and some light caramel malt. Flavor of peppery rye with some sweet malts and citrus hops. Some bitterness at the finish. Pretty good. wcatsbb01 (5) - st. peters, Missouri, USA - APR 26, 2012 does not count
Overall a good IPA. I like mine to be a little more forward. This one has a great finsih though. Another great IPA by Sierra Nevada.ex..medium body, slick feel, average carbonation, bitter, CardinalDan (3) - Louisville, Alabama, USA - APR 26, 2012 does not count
Bottle. Tulip. Medium amber with small off white head. Not much lacing. Smells of pine and fruit and grain. Tastes of pine grapefruit and a touch of banana. The rye ads a peppery contrast. A very good beer.

2012 12oz bottle poured a hazy amber color with good carbonation and a ivory white head. Aroma was a pleasant rich resiny hop smell with a hint of citrus. Bitter grapefruit and toasty rye flavor. Hops definitely steals the show. Overall a good beer for hops lovers. Might be a little bitter for some folk. I would buy it again.
