Smells strong, tastes strong. I like it. I picked up on two distinct tastes in each sip. Up front its malty and rich, but the finish is spicy and bitter and, well, ruthless. The bitterness at the end has a very distinct grapefruit kind of thing going on, and itll get your attention. Each sip has been as full-bodied as the one before.

Bottle. Oh thank you Sierra Nevada for not letting me down! I needed a redemption beer after two big fat FAILURES from two new Arizona micros. This fantastic beer pours medium amber with. Light golden head that leaves delicate lace. The aroma is a full-on hop assault, with tons of fresh white grapefruit, guava, and lime. Given some time, a sweet barley candy note sneaks in. The palate is much the same, very hop-dominant, lots of citrus, some perfumey juniper, with sweet malts underlying it all. In a blind tasting there is no way I could pick out any rye character here, but that doesnt diminish my enjoyment of this delicious brew.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a large two inch, foamy, tan head that lasts a while. Taste is of pine, citrus, rye, roasted malt, caramel and hops. Similar aroma. The body is slightly oily and the finish is a touch dry and bitter. Easy to drink, satisfying and enjoyable. Worth picking up again.

This has now become one of my favorite seasonal brews. Spice aroma with a full taste of hops, citrus and spices. Excellent with just about anything. Enjoying it this Easter with the family.

I like having this beer in my imported english pub glass. I personally think that this beer is good with red meats and enjoyed on late evenings. I love pale ales and I have tried quite a few. Alot of them I have not been happy with like Bass Pale Ale; for something that suppose to be so old taste so commercialized. I highly recommend this to anyone that loves a beer that has a bold taste.

On tap it had a nice amber color. Aroma of some pine and floral notes. Mild bitterness on the taste along with some resin. It had a nice finish.

Bottle from Ninas. Pours a beautiful amber colour with a thick beige head. Aroma of rye, pine, caramel and pineapple. A great rye flavour gives way to pineapple and grapefruit hop characters. Nicely bitter with fairly heavy carbonation and a foamy mouth-feel. This is lovely and my favourite abv also : )

Det frsta som slr mig r en spontanjst doft som inte fljs upp i smaken verhuvudtaget. Smaken i sig r sknt balanserade och ngot svrpreciserad men god. Slutsats: annorlunda, lite mrklig men god.
