found this one at trader joes and apparently they got the first shipment?? what the feez? This one i couldnít wait to cool off in the fridge so iím drinking it room temp. smell is awesome. floral spicy citrusy hops, but a touch of earth in there too. mouthfeel is nice and bity, perfect body- not too thick, not too watery, not even close to either of those.... long lasting bitter finish. the taste has an almost powder sugar somewhere in the middle that is just a tiny bit, and nice. I really like this because the citrus isnít overpowering the mix, but itís still pretty bitter. I donít know what to say. This shit is interesting and really freaking good. You do get a hint of clove but not over the top. iím down w this, and iím almost going to recommend you drink this room temp, if you get it so fresh that you are the third one to rate it. Smells great, some hops mixed with a milky grain. this is quite tasty. Hops yet smooth in the finish. A rye beer to rival Rocket from Bear Republic. Leighton (21075) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 28, 2012
Bottle at Sanderís place, NYC. Pours clear, copper-ruby with a luscious, light tan foam. Truly gorgeous aroma, loads of fresh, wet hops, pine, grapefruit, pineapple, melon. Medium sweet flavor, toasty grain, some spicy rye, tons of meaty hops, pine, toasty sugar. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation. Sticky, moderately sweet finish, tons of resinous pine, citrus, spicy hops and rye. Delicious toasted malts, subtle caramel, fine bread. Lasting pine bitterness and modest sugar. Really an incredible beer. Wonderfully drinkable. beerlover82 (241) - Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 11, 2012
A gorgeous dark amber/orange, shiny/clear, with luscious and elegant creamy white head. Very bubbly and beautiful head. About a finger thick. Good retention, with big lacing around the glass. All the usual great characteristics expected from the great SN.
Heavy doses of rye and lovely hits of hop and citrus feast upon the nose. Well-balanced on the nose, as the rye competes with the hops for the title. Very good.
The rye dominates the flavors, balancing and complimenting the citrus hops, with a good slight malt edge. It is well-done with a medium to heavy body, average carbonation level. The rye can be brutal for those not used to it, but this is a welcome experimental IPA.
I like this a lot, but then again, this is Sierra Nevada here, so I pretty much figured I would. Good to have an IPA thatís not just a regular for a change. MJU999 (4) - - OCT 7, 2012 does not count
Wish it was available all year. Rye/piney scent, hoppy/citrus flavor. Solid beer.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2014 pours a copper color with a thick head that leaves a ton of lacing. the aroma is rye, earthy, hops, grainy. the taste is the same. the beer is very thick i felt like i was chewing through it at times. NICKV1117 (23) - California, USA - APR 7, 2012
This has now become one of my favorite seasonal brews. Spice aroma with a full taste of hops, citrus and spices. Excellent with just about anything. Enjoying it this Easter with the family. zacgillbanks (5118) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - MAY 19, 2012
Bottle from Rehills in Newcastle. A Red-brown coloured beer with orange marmalade, blackcurrant and juicy fruit flavours with a grapefruit finish. Fantastic! JimboJones10001 (29) - - MAR 16, 2014
Delicious.Big flavour punch like an imperial IPA without the alcohol kickback, and with nice fruit flavours in the middle. Smooth finish. Great beer.
