Tap at longroom... Pours are dark caramel reddish brown with a thin wispy tan head... Aroma of vanilla wooden tannins smooth with a scotch ale rule of consistency... Flavors are sweet sugary with vanilla and wood with a darker caramel malt presence. Smooth light carb profile. drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 7, 2010

Draft. Rich amber beer with a dark cream colored head. Rich malt and very light scotch aroma. Rich malt/caramel with light scotch and some light peat. Medium bodied. Rich malt/caramel lingers with light sweetness and light scotch barrel notes. esjaygee (3904) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 17, 2009
On tap at Sugar Maple, the lesser of the two wood aged beers at Sierra Nevada day @ Sugar Maple. Brown with a thin tan head. Aroma of scotch, oak, toffee and alcohol. Taste pretty much the same as the nose – scotch, toffee, alcohol, heavily malted and a touch of oak. Finishes up dry. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - DEC 2, 2009

Nice carbonation. Very smooth taste. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

(had to move this over from the Barrel Aged Scotch listing). Draft @ Bistro Barrel Aged Festival. Pours a murky, cola-brown color; light tan head with decent retention and patchy lacing. Lots of malty scotchy notes (brown sugar, tea), bready yeast, and a light Scotch note in the aroma; seamless, creamy. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: pleasant approach; creamy, brown sugar and caramel notes throughout; smooth, lightly sweet, lax carbonation; smooth and scotchy without being sticky; very light barrel presence; loads of caramel. Drinkable, solid and toasty. Lasting finish: very toasty, brown sugar, caramel. 1FastSTi (3360) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 20, 2009
Tap at Sugar Maple for a Sierra Nevada night. The beer has a deep brown body with a thick creamy tan head. Nice lacing. The aroma is light but has some toffee and nougat. Too subtle and hard to smell this one, even in a smoke free bar. The flavor is sweet caramel and nougat with creamy treacle. Subtle notes of peat and a dash of peppery alcohol. Creamy body that’s medium full and not sticky sweet. Pretty good flavor. The beer is very worthy of being drank. nickd717 (4691) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 16, 2009
Damn! They nail it again! On tap at Bistro Barrel Aged Fest, following the Porter on Scotch, and this was similarly awesome. Nice play on the word "scotch." Ruddy dark brown in color with a medium-sized beige head that lasts. Aroma is really malty with caramel, smoke, Scotch, vanilla, oak, and cherry. Flavor is great and complex with caramel malt, toffee, peaty smoke, brown sugar, cherry, oak, vanilla, and of course awesome Scotch. Palate is smooth with medium-full body and soft carbonation. Great beer overall. Should probably be more in the "Scotch Ale" style category though as this is a strong one. marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - NOV 15, 2009
On tap at Bistro Barrel Aged Beer Fest. Pours dark brown with a thin beige head and a treacle aroma with a hint of cherry. The flavor is rather complex with elements of chocolate, dark fruit , candi sugar and oak. An interesting brew.
