12 ounce bottle from the brewery. This was bottled a week ago. I was told that this was being made for the local market in Chico, only. Looks like it may not be the actual case. The aroma has some grassy hop character and a light, sweet, honey-like malt nose, too. I also get a little caramel popcorn, too. Glistening, transparent amber body with a large, frothy, cream-colored head. Starts with a semi-sweet and almost nutty malt flavor. Some caramel comes through in the middle, before some harshly bitter tannins come through in the end. chinchill (5377) - South Carolina, USA - JAN 1, 2016
12 oz bottle from the shop at the NC brewery; served in a lager glass.
Pours with a clear brown-amber body and a very large, durable, frothy, off-white head. No sediment.
This may say "amber ale" and have a corresponding appearance, but the hop dominated aroma suggests an APA or IPA. While the flavor has a higher malt/hop balance, it is still not what is expected in a typical "amber ale". Mildly bitter with a near medium body and lively carbonation.
Overall: comes across as an English/American Red Pale Ale. jhliesen (836) - West Melbourne, Florida, USA - DEC 13, 2015
Bottle--Wow, not really sure what to make of the aroma, it isn’t bad, but it doesn’t smell like a beer, more like mud. A rating of 4 might be generous. It has an amber to orange coloring with a small head. Sweet malt starts the taste and finish with a touch of hops. The finish is a bit metallic. A decent Amber, more of a cross between a pale ale and a farmhouse. Pours a slightly cloudy orange with a white head. Smells a bit of tropical fruit, peaches and pine. Taste is crisp, piney and earthy with some citrus and peach. Slightly hoppy finish. Had on tap in Chico. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - APR 17, 2015

[2/14/15] Draught at Sierra Nevada Torpedo Room in Berkeley. Clear deep golden. Aroma of malt, mild hops and a grainy note. Sweetish malty flavor with mild floral hops and a bitterish finish. Medium-bodied. slowrunner77 (13206) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 26, 2014
"a surprisingly hoppy aroma gives way to a more traditional english style nutty flavor, with some caramel for good measure. a nicely balanced and tasty session brew." fonefan (52351) - VestJylland, DENMARK - MAY 25, 2014

Clear medium amber orange color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, sweet malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, sweet malt, fruity, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
On draft at Tap 25. It pours a dark golden color with an off white head. The aroma is dry and grainy malt. The flavor is dry with a non-descript toasty malt character. Clean, lightly bitter finish... I’m kind of at a loss for describing this one. Pretty boring, kind of like Fat Tire. Not bad though. DTM (870) - Vacaville, California, USA - OCT 28, 2013
Sampler at the brewpub in Chico. Light aroma of caramel. Tastes of caramel and light fruits. Decent.
