4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: nice orange color with a fluffy head that falls to a thin like layer that lasts. Thick lacing paints the glass.
Aroma: pine and grapefruits are most prominent with a bit of earthiness in the background.
Taste: caramel, grapefruit slices, hints of orange, and a soft fruit sweetness comes up late. Bitterness is bold but not overbearing at all. Very fresh tasting. Like freshly squeezed juice.
Palate: crisp throughout. Mildly dry at the finish. Medium bodied. Long aftertaste as the bitterness lingers the longest over the grapefruits and caramels. The fresh oils from the hops really contribute to the lengthy afterglow.
Overall: easy to drink this one. I drank this down pretty fast and found myself hankering for another in no time flat. The result was not unlike the SN Estate hopped beers. But the quality was so good, that who could really quibble. Definitely a tasty beer.
Draft at the NC source. Hazy golden-amber pour with a full, sticky off-white head. Lots of fruity hops aromas. Flavors are tangerines, orange rind, pineapple, light caramel and tons fresh hops. Nice bitter finish. Excellent, one to look for every year. (2015 version, notes). john44 (3202) - SW London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 1, 2017
Draft Half Pint at White Horse, Parsons Green, London in Aug 2010 - Light orangey copper in colour. Piney and floral hoppy aroma. Very hoppy (fresh piney oily resinous spicy hops). Very fruity (citrus, grapefruit and lemon). Light malty base (biscuity). Hop dominant. Citrus bitter hoppy throughout. Very dry bitter hoppy finish. Lovely stuff. Terrific IPA! (2010-08)

On draft, was really disappointed. Looks good, aroma and taste was soapy, finished musty. Not good. Dandm (125) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 2, 2016

660ml bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. 660ml bottle. Hazy red-amber coloured with a thick head of white foam. It has a spicy tropical fruit, orange marmalade and pine flavour followed by a smooth, creamy peppery hop and fruity finish. Excellent! seymour (2076) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - FEB 18, 2016
Poured from bomber bottle into a nonic pub glass, a deep reddish copper colour with sudsy, long-lasting beige foam and lace. Hazy from all the dissolved hop matter, but not in a bad, gunky way. This was WAY, WAY past the recommended freshness for a "fresh hop IPA", so I knew I’d miss out on the over-the-top aroma intensity but I wanted to taste this Southern Cross/Pacifica/Moteuka hop combo anyway. Tasted more like a hoppy American barleywine now, still very tasty. Great big maltbill, rich caramel sweetness which lingered all the way into aftertaste, supporting a massive hop presence: apricot, mango, melon, honey, sweet orange zest, resiny ganja, pine sap, black pepper, nutmeg, hot-house flowers, coarse weeds. Medium body and carbonation, smooth mouthfeel, non-stop bittersweet aftertaste. Good stuff. nealblind (1946) - Seattle, Alabama, USA - DEC 8, 2015

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Aromas of sweet tropical fruits, caramel. Taste is citrus, pine, slight sourness. Finish is bitter marmalade. Was expecting a bit more, but it’s still quite solid. graham_murphy (689) - - OCT 19, 2015
Definitely for those who love bitter bitter hops. And I’m one of those. Floral, pine, grassy and a little citrus in there. Fairly heavy in the body with some sweet honey notes to offset the bitterness. Great one. Like
