(bottle) black is black...i want my baby back....aroma like hazelnut coffee... a toasty hop flavor, but nothing spectacular. i dont find this very drinkable or very exciting in any way. i wont be getting this again, but i was still able to drink it down.

Draft. Nearly opaque, very deep brownish black. Mini light brown head. Wheres the flavor? All I get out of this is a mild toastiness. Underwhelming from one of the most overrated brewers out there. Didnt get better as it warmed.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma is just like their porter, roasty coffee, but a bit less up front. A thicker body and less hops bring out a smoother feel for this brew. Good roastiness in the taste with some bitter chocolate and coffee left in the finish. Still could stand for a bit thicker texture to it.

Beautiful stout ... big monster head on a black nightmare. Light java aroma. Nice nutty and bitter flavors with sweet swirl on top. Nice.

thought this was an OK stout, dark brown/black hue, creamy foamy head, had a strong coffee aroma & flavor, but not bad, creamy texture & smooth, i have had better, so i am not sure if i would get this again.

A slightly above average stout with coffe, and chocholate flavors.Coffe is dominant however. Not as good as thier porter IMO.

Good stout, not the best but descent. dark, had with a good steak. Not a beer to seek out necessarily, but if its available with steak its a good choice.

Part of the haul my parents came back from premier gourmet with. This beer is opaque black with a foamy tan head. The aroma is mostly of roasted malt. The flavour is like roasted coffee beans with traces of coacoa as the beer warmed. Im not a huge fan of roasted stouts, I like the bitter espresso chocolate better, but this was good.

Maybe Stouts arent SNs strong suite. This guy doesnt live up to the potenial that their IPA does. Still it is a good solid stout, just not great. Nose is very pleasant, lots of roast and coffee elements. Attack is a bit weak and comes off a bit watery/thin to me. A mild stout by west coast standards IMO. Finish well as expected.
