COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear orangeish gold with a nice foamy white head that sticks for a bit before receding. It leaves some decent lacing. It has a nice aroma. There is a heightened hop presence here over say an SNPA. There are nice herbal pine and citrus accents along with some subtle sweetness. The taste has the signature SN yeast and malt flavors with some piney bitter hops to go along. I have always found SN ales to have a bit of a solely bitter taste, it isn’t a hoppy bitterness, just straight up bitter flavor. It is a decent take on the IPA, nice bitterness level though not really out of balance with the strong malt presence. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 06-27-2010 03:01:48

Bottle from Stirchley Wines and Spirits, Birmingham. Aroma is hoppy, but not in a drastically resinous or floral fashion. Upon sipping, the mouth is obviously filled with hops, but the flavour is not defined, rather it feels a little gritty or dusty. A reviewer further down is right in noticing a hint of English malt too. Overwhelming impression is bitterness. This is very dry. Delicious, especially when allowed to warm slightly.

Great beer! I cant help but notice a rich following in the ESB-PA from England influences. The malt used reminds me of a pint in a London pub, but only someone dropped a handful of hops in my suds! Overall I am impressed, the hops used and method lend to the palate aftertaste but its nice. Its beatiful, gold, orange dirty piss color. Not alot of head, min-med lacing. Aroma is quite nice, citrus and spicy. Fresh beer is what I really notice! This is quite a special IPA considering the size and notability of the brewery, so my hats off to S.N, for making yet another beer I really enjoy

Bottle. Definitely one of the better IPAs out there. The malt is smooth and easy to drink, with the pleasant citrus of the hops prevented from becoming too overpowering by the malts. Very well balanced. Great beer.

Pours an attractive wood colour with ok head that didn’t last overly long but it kept its bead. Lovely citrus aroma, grapefruit and pine which promises a delicious zingy beer. On the tongue it is bright and very bitter, the orange rind taste on the tongue is thoroughly pleasant. Not sure if I can taste any malt, that’ll be my limited sense of taste, but the hops are not the only thing in this beer. However, they are the predominant theme. At 7% its nice and heady. Top drop/

Nice amber color in the glass with a large head. Taste has some floral notes but the hops come through strong. Large bitter taste with a long finish.

UPDATED: JUN 1, 2011 This is your typical strong hopped beer, not malty at all, nor does it have complexity, the hops are clean and well done however

Citrus and woody aroma are the first notes I detect in the nose. Frothy white foamy head and a clear amber color are characteristic in this IPA. Bitter and slightly sweet flavor, hops are dominant but not overpowering. Nice dry finish and a medium body make this an easy drinking but flavorful beer. Ilike this beer and would recommend it highly to anyone looking for a good IPA.

Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a clear copper with a nice fluffy head and lacing through out the glass, aroma is of fresh hops with citrus notes, the flavor is well balanced with the hops and the malt, has a bitter finish but it works.
