COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2012 Slightly hazy amber with a lacing whitish head. Smells of floral hops, pine, caramel malt, and citrus fruit. Beautiful blend of heavy floral hop, malt and bitter grapefruit and pine tastes. Medium body, dry. Excellent IPA.

Aroma has pine, grape, citrus, itís rather west coast, and quite a malt body too. Taste is hop dominated with pine, grape and some citrus too, lots of caramel and bready malts too, bisquity, almost alcoholic, in spite of only 7.2%. Pleasant carbonation and a very bitter finish.

12 oz. bottle from Woodmanís Madison. Ar: The aroma is not as assertive as I expected it to be, but otherwise quite nice. Itís mostly dominated by floral hops with a pine hop background. Thereís also a slightly strange earthy/metallic funk note that I donít remember from my previous tastings. Ap: Pours a medium, slightly hazy amber/copper with a 1" pillowy cream head. T: Mild malt sweetness on the nose, nicely pronounced hop bitterness on the finish. Again, there is a somewhat metallic note that is a bit off-putting. P: Medium body, somewhat light carbonation. O: This was a bit off, which I donít remember from previous times Iíve had this beer. Iíll have to rate this again in the future.

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2011 Bottle. Bought a six-pack of these and Iím in love! Orange color with a beige head. Aroma is hoppy...orange and grapefruit. Taste is sweet at first, with various bitter hints of grapefruit and orange zest to finish it off. Leaves a bit of a bitter aftertaste in the back of your mouth which I enjoy. Can also taste hints of caramel and bread. Depending on what Iím eating with it, I think the alcohol can stand out a bit too much at times, but for the most part if Iím just drinking for fun itís perfectly fine. The body of the beer is kind of oily, with a decent mouthfeel. Really enjoy this IPA, probably one of my favorites thatís easy to find around here! 7.2% alcohol.

Pours a thick, off-white head. The color is a honey-orange; heavy carbonation. Head lasts a long time. The head really is stupidly thick, wow! Impressive! The aroma is big, flowery and hoppy. Notes of citrus and grapefruit. The hops are sweet, with a touch of pine. The taste is herbal, earthy malt. Quickly followed by a sweet flowery hop. The taste is pine and grapefruit. Caramel malts work really well with the bitter resins. The feel is creamy and milky. A little bite on the way down. Sticky and long-lasting.

I already have had 2 six packs of this, and I forgot to rate. It really is a decent and smooth IPA. Well made and certainly drinkable for a beer of this style and strength. Reminds me a lot of their Southern Hemisphere Harvest.

12 oz bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber with a beautiful fluffy off-white head. Hoppy nose- piny and floral- but also a rich malty character. Body is medium-full but maybe just a bit too much carbonation keeping it from what is a great mouthfeel. Taste and finish are complex and right up my alley- sweet and sticky malts, caramel, piny and floral hops, a bit sweet and fruity- apricot?- as well as a citrus note- and this is all at a fairly cold temperature, canít wait to see it open up a bit. Definitely a beer I see myself continually coming back to- two thumbs up!
