COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

12 oz. bottle poured into snifter. Aroma is earthy hoppy grapfurity. Appearance is ruby red orange with white frothy head and soild lacing. Taste has grapfurity to earthy tones maybe faint honey which finishes dry. Palate slick watery hoppy feel with dry bitter notes. I really enjoy this beer good solid IPA for under $9.00 a six pack.

Slightly hazy medium orange-brown body, medium dissipating to thin, clumping off-white head. Citrusy hops nose with some pine and grass. Firm bitter, catty, resinous hops body with citrus peel and a toasty malt backbone. Hops and malt interplay create a citrusy sweetness cusped by the bitter, herbal finish. There’s nothing steroidal about this beer; it’s just a crisp, clean, relatively dry IPA.

Beer has a nice aroma that seems to fade quickly after the beer is opened. Aroma is citrusy. Beer poors slightly hazy and golden. White head disipates quickly. Taste has a sharp bitterness of citrus but it is quickly calmed by the malt which does not have a strong presence. The Palate is nice but a bit of a strange aftertaste remains. Overall the beer is a nice IPA which is enjoyable to drink

Pours a hazy golden-caramel color with thin bubbly head. Aroma is heavily fragrant of hops, sweet floral and grassy. Flavor is hoppy and bitter but not as blindingly hoppy as I had expected. Actually, quite decent with regard to balancing out the floral hop character with gentle sweet, earthy malt notes.

Wonderful beer. Powerful lemony hops with a lingering, but pleasant bitterness. At moments, I wondered if the beer was too malty; but overall, I found it very balanced, but perhaps a tad heavy for a session beer. (Great Divide Titan IPA would be better for that.)

8/27/09 on draft at Hopunion. Aroma is extremely citrusy with lots of grapefruit and a touch of grass. Appearance is copper-orange with a very well maintained deep cream head. Flavor is earthy but citrus, like an orange rind, with malt sweetness that balances well yet defenitely comes across as a distinctly seperate flavor. Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied with a medium high carb texture that lingers into a semi-starchy finish. Overall, the balance is lacking to make this easy drinking, but all the components are there.

Bottle. Copper, medium head. Flowery perfume and grapefruity hops in the nose. Good, full mouthfeel, lots of hoppy bitterness in the finish. Up there with the best of them.

An awesome IPA from Sierra Nevada. A hop bomb. Awesome IBU. Smell is something else. I am loving this. Amber colour is stunning. It tricks you into looking innocent yet kicks you in the receptors like an a bomb. I’m astounded by the hops. Wow hope this is consistent. Love this stuff. Consumed on bottle at home. Poured into narrow pint glass but wiill experiment with other bottle into a wider glass for aroma reasons as these hops are stunning.

Bought in HEB in Houston. Very pleasant pine and citrusy on nose and with some malt on the palate. Really well balanced. I was actually surprised at how very drinkable it is. A very good IPA.

A really bold but balanced IPA. The hops aren’t just a bitter muddle. The bitterness holds but doesn’t sit there wrecking the palate. It encourages another sip. Pours a pretty orange-ish color. Floral bouquet.
