COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

Not being of British stock, this American upstart rocks! A daily drinker with additional American hops is a bargain for it's quality - doesn't sacrifice taste for high abv. That's what a good beer does it picks up the spirits without losing it's food value. I'm surprised that anyone would drink the pale ale at the same price. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

350ml (no, not 355ml) Bottle at Bistro lAutre Oeil. Pours a nice thick frothy off-white head and has an amber coppery appearance. Dirty lacing. Aromas are more malty than expected. Some piney and earthy hop notes. Flavours are quite similar to aromas, but hops are much more prominent. Earthy hops and toasted malts. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Good retention. Average carbonation. Pretty good.

Tropical fruit aroma, pineapples. Crystal clear orange in colour with generous creamy white head. Taste is extra fruity and hop driven, with a lingering dryness. Really easy drinking for such a high ABV.

355 ml. bottle from an Albert Heijn supermarket. BBF 082516 (date was very hard to find & very hard to read). Seems to have been bottled in April 2016 but code is hard to read. So I bought this only to find out that it is about probably about 7 months old. This is a beer that just now appeared in a supermarket chain, total rip-off. Clear dark amber, off-white head. Nose is mildly grainy sweetish orange peel & mellow pine resin hops, orange peel, mango peel, caramel with malts, very mellow for a USA DIPA (que age). Taste is mellow orange peel, prominent medium mellow pine resin, marmalade, low dark bread, mango peel, caramel, malty, oily. Body has clear malt, marmalade, hop oil. Still pretty good, held up really solidly (it is too mellow whilst still tasting very pleasantly), fresh it must be awesome. Age is a real shame here because it is a massive USA brewery importing through a major supermarket chain. For some Belgians this will be their first encounter with Sierra Nevada.

Bottle. Nice firm head and decent citrus and hoppy aroma. Hops, hops are everywhere, they play crucial role in this one, pleasant dry finish makes it very drinkable indeed.
