Torpedo is an assertive American IPA deep reddish-gold in color, with a smooth and bready malt presence and over-the-top hop aromas. The beer has a solid bitterness and a massive hop flavor, yet remains easy drinking with a pleasant dry finish.

I don't get why this beer is so highly rated. It's tastes off to me. The hop flavor does not come through at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sierra nevada is not my thing, too artificial. And also this beer is imo overrated, though it is really good.

Another entry in the "How have I never rated this??" Series. Many bottles, most recently 2015, maybe?
Amber-copper body is clear and topped by a beige head with moderate to moderately strong retention.
The nose is full of pine sap, spruce, wintergreen, marmalade and ruby red grapefruit. All hops, with some specialty malt backing it adding breadiness and light iced tea. No thanks on the specialty malts.....just interferes with the hops, as they almost always do, and adds strong bread and hardness to compound the acidity problems instead of adding soft honey to balance it, as the base malts do.
Just way to bitter in the mouth, like sucking on a pine branch. Peppery, sprucey, spicy, quite citric and with a hard, specialty malt-driven texture and moderate, engaging carbonation. Sticky sap on the end with iced tea and marmalade notes. Easy drinking my ass.

Butelka 355ml. Metny bursztynowy kolor. Piana biala, srednia o drobnych pecherzykach, opada dosc szybko. Swietny aromat cytrusowy z lekka nuta owocow tropikalnych. W smaku grejfrutowe albedo, cytrusy pozniej pojawia sie nuta karmelowa ,ktora je balansuje. Slodkie tony owocowe z morelami i ananasem w tle moze troche rodzynek.piwo swietnie zbalansowane:pierwszy cytrusowy posmak przechodzi w slodycz i konczy sie potezna dawka goryczki (IBU 65). Swietna IPA

Bottle from GNG in San Francisco. Cellared since August. Pours a clear reddish amber colour with one finger of lasting head. Lacing clinging to the side of the glass. Aromas of pine, caramel, grapefruit and some oranges. Taste matches the aroma with a dry and hoppy finish. My high expectations of this brewery was met. Excellent IPA.

Beer pours like a double IPA, dark amber with a small off white head. Nose....boom, love it already. pineapple, mango, Pine cone, bit of lemon with a strong caramel malt aroma. Mouth feel is again like a double, rich and thick. Taste is a good solid caramel sweet malt that slowly leads into a fantastic hop punch of pine and citrus. What else can I say, absolutely love Sierra Nevada beers !

12 fl oz bottle. Aroma is pine, caramel adn a little peach. Flavour is lots of pine, a little lemon, some peach and maybe a little grassiness. Everything then just gives way to caramel and then into a bitter finsh. Pretty tasty.
