Not a very interesting taste, was expecting to have a little more meat to it. BelgianBeerGal (4118) - Panama City, Florida, USA - SEP 11, 2010
Draft at the KC F.S. This was a nice surprise since I had no idea what it was. Dark chestnut brown color with just a little white ring of foam. Aroma was nutty with roasted malts. More roasted nuts in the flavor and sweeter malts. Very tasty. wnoble (1251) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - SEP 11, 2010
Clear dark red to brown pour. Nos is a nice blend of caramel, roast, nuts, maybe some earthy hop notes and just a little smokey character. Taste reveals some a lot if the same but more of the biscuit and smokey notes really come through. Starts sweet and finishes dry. medium body and carbonation. good and feels true to style. barncatmatt (2287) - Cambridge, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 11, 2010
355ml bottle from jsprime. pours chestnut brown with an off white head that lingers and laces. perfet looking brown ale. aroma of brown malty ale: touch of nut, touch of chocolate, touch of smoke. the flavour is complex and leaning on the malt body. chocolate upfront with smoke in the back. hops balance but contribute very little else where. solid brown ale. VAYankee (353) - Virginia, USA - SEP 11, 2010
Brown body with an offwhite head. Roasted malt, slightly hoppy, a little chocolatey aroma. Hoppy dry malt flavor with a mild smokiness and more bitterness than I prefer. Dry aftertaste. Overall overbalanced in favor of hops.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2010 Interesting beer. It pours brownish red with a small whitish beige head. Has a smokey malty smell to it. Starts off with a nutty chocolate malt flavor and transitions into a smokey bitter finish. Not your usual tame brown ale. rader58 (918) - Leawood, Kansas, USA - SEP 11, 2010

Bottle. Poured a clear brownish color, medium white head. Aroma was malty, touch of nut, chocolate. Flavor was nutty, malty. Palate was smooth, a bit thin. A decent beer for the weather it was consumed in. sloth (2919) - Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA - SEP 11, 2010
Medium statured offwhite head, good retention and a fair lace. Clear amber/brown color. Faint nose of chocolate malt and smoke light roast, mild nuttiness. Med/light body, nice carbonation, a touch chewy. Dry malty flavors, caramel, light smokiness and nuttyness, lightly grainy, toasty, choco hints and a bit of hop spiceyness. Quick, clean finish, dry and toasty. Bottles procured @statelineliquors.
