COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sierra Nevada uses malt within days of roasting at the peak of its flavor to give Tumbler a gracefully smooth malt character. Two-row pale, crystal 40, chocolate and smoked malts give it a malty complexity. Challenger hops in the boil add balancing bitterness, while more Challengers and some Goldings give just enough hop flavor in the finish to balance all that malt.

Draft at the KC F.S. This was a nice surprise since I had no idea what it was. Dark chestnut brown color with just a little white ring of foam. Aroma was nutty with roasted malts. More roasted nuts in the flavor and sweeter malts. Very tasty.

Clear dark red to brown pour. Nos is a nice blend of caramel, roast, nuts, maybe some earthy hop notes and just a little smokey character. Taste reveals some a lot if the same but more of the biscuit and smokey notes really come through. Starts sweet and finishes dry. medium body and carbonation. good and feels true to style.

Brown body with an offwhite head. Roasted malt, slightly hoppy, a little chocolatey aroma. Hoppy dry malt flavor with a mild smokiness and more bitterness than I prefer. Dry aftertaste. Overall overbalanced in favor of hops.

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2010 Interesting beer. It pours brownish red with a small whitish beige head. Has a smokey malty smell to it. Starts off with a nutty chocolate malt flavor and transitions into a smokey bitter finish. Not your usual tame brown ale.

Med/light body, nice carbonation, a touch chewy. Dry malty flavors, caramel, light smokiness and nuttyness, lightly grainy, toasty, choco hints and a bit of hop spiceyness. Quick, clean finish, dry and toasty. Bottles procured @statelineliquors.

12oz bottle poured into a Dimpled mug at 42. Color is a deep amber with good carbonation and a nice head. Aroma of roasted malt and hops. Body is a lighter medium with a smooth mouth feel that seems to give way to a sharper feel on the end. Flavor is roasted with a nutty flavor and mild hop bitterness and spice. After taste is clean with the bitter fading out quickly. Overall its a very nice Brown with an extra hop kick.
