On tap at the Torpedo Room in Berkeley. Pours clear amber with a light tan head. Citrus and resin hops up front with a crystal malt finish. Nice lasting bitterness. Too much iced tea for my palate though. jackl (8425) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 13, 2014
Keg @ CBC Islington. Deep toffee color with a tight off-white head. Plenty of caramel and pine resin on the nose. Some summery fruits, strawberry and nectarine. Cake. The rye comes through on the flavor. Pretty peppery and dry. More wood. Caramel and a bit of dirty unwashed nuts. Full, slightly oily. Moderate carbonation. Decent, though not an improvement on the original. Leighton (22327) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 10, 2014
Keg at CBC Islington - London. Pours clear, deep russet with a toght, foamy tan head. The nose has some grainy bread, ripe orange, juicy pine, alcohol, berries. Medium sweet flavor with aggressive alcohol, strong bitter pine, light toasted grass, grain husks, berry skins, orange rind. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Hot finish with astringent pine and dry wood bitterness, leaves, earth, dried grains, ripe berries. Heavy, unbalanced, aggressively bitter. I am struggling to find something to like in this beer. Not a fan. Scopey (15753) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 10, 2014
UPDATED: MAR 11, 2014 Keg at CBC N1. It pours clear deep red-amber with a small beige head. The nose is pine, resin, brown bread, light spice, toffee, peach and papaya. The taste is bitter, pine, resinous, light spice, toffee, oily, brown bread, soft fruits, peach, apricot and decent alcohol heat with a lingering bitter finish. Medium + body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Flavoursome enough but perhaps a touch hot and viscous. Fairly hefty stuff, but I still didn’t have a problem finishing it.

Mild passion fruit nose rolling with some malt notes, sweet spiced raisin, that melds to a round malt cleanness for a moment before the rye spice comes back with a slight resin hop bitter. GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 3, 2014
